I have a box full of Lizardmen I just can't bring my self to finish off (and they're soooo close!) or even play again. Had some truly awful WHFB experiences and I just want to get rid and focus on future based, FUN, shooty dice rolling.

So my question is, if I DO manage to sell or trade them, how am I best posting them to the buyer? A box, layered with foam? Packing peanuts?

I notice that the Dakka Swap Shop is heavily US biased, so is there a UK market place anyone can recommend?

Selling my mini is what? Apostrophes don't mean "here comes the s", they're generally contractions. Anyway, let me quit being pedantic and actually try and help you out here.

When I've sent/received minis, I often wrap the figures in a layer of bubble wrap. A lot of people will wrap individual models in a little bit of bubble wrap and tape that together, but I'd probably only do that for really fragile or painted models. Sprues can be shipped as is, so long as they're not bouncing around too much. After all, the way sprues are arrayed in your average box is generally how they get shipped. They're held fairly tightly in their regular boxes, but nothing too bad. Just keep in mind that the box will probably get tossed around a bit, so fill excess space with newspapers, packing peanuts, bubble wrap, or any other packing material you can think of. In other words, ship em like you'd ship anything else you don't want broken!

YOu can also try barter town. For shipping figures, I typically use bubble wrap and make a little tower of figures (1" in between top and bottom) and roll them into a little sausage of 4-5 figures. Any remaining space is filled with peanuts or news paper.

Thank you gents, that's sound advice.

Brother SRM, I'm normally a stickler for grammar and punctuation but that little bugger got through on my ipad, which doesn't even autocorrect to ipad to iPad! (And I was lazy proof reading before submitting, oops!)

I turned off autocorrect for just such a reason! But then again, I like living on the edge Best of luck shipping minis!

I tend to favour in-person sales, and in Manchester there must be a few conventions on the go with bring & buy sales. There will no doubt also be a manchester centric trading group on facebook, which would allow the buyer to collect.

The rationale behind in-person is that you don't need to worry about shipping rates or packing so much (because they can carry it home themselves), and the buyer can get a good look at it first as well.

Not sure where you get the impression that the Swap Shop is US centric. We perhaps have slightly more US traffic (as a result of the site having more US traffic) but there are almost as many UK based traders. Obviously, the trade threads that you see currently on the front page of the Swap Shop depend on when you browse the site. If you browse the site in the early/late evening UK time, then you are more likely to start seeing US threads as that is when the US is awake and doing business. If you browse Dakka during the UK day time, then there are more UK threads as we are up and about and the US isn't.

Anyway, if you have no luck trading/selling on here, Bartertown or Ebay, then try Gumtree as it is free and a relatively decent site. We sold a pushchair and some baby bits and bobs easily and painlessly through that site.

Herzlos - great idea, I'll get looking.

filbert - When I had a look yesterday afternoon, all but a half dozen threads were US only. When I looked last night, there were loads more UK ones. Bad timing I suppose, but it seems I have loads of options regardless.

Thanks everyone!

I would ask the buyer. If it's me buying them, I'm often buying for scrap parts, so there's no reason to protect them in any way. I'd honestly prefer whatever is cheapest. I would ask the buyer what they prefer, and go from there.
