It should really have something like this instead of those poor Sentinels.
But I guess they wouldn't need Space Marines then.

You know the Imperium has Titans that are scores of meters tall, right? They pack enough firepower to level entire cities.

So? By that logic, Necrons should have Reapers from ME, Tyranids should have Kaiju from Pacific Rim, and Tau should have Gundams.

Besides, the IoM have their own Titans, which are superior to the suits in Titan Fall.

These are so rare and unwieldy that they are completely irrelevant, we are talking here about standard armament of Imperium armies.

If they wanted to (were able to) "get their act together" then by your logic they would be better off improving Guardsman's armour and weapony instead of worrying about making Titans easier to produce.

They can't do that though. It would unbalance the 40k setting too far.

Yep. Besides, they don't need those mini titans. They have the man power and resources to drown their enemies in men and tanks.

The Guard has superheavy tanks, superheavy ordnance akin to the Big Bertha of WWI fame, SS missiles with vortex bomb warheads that tear holes in reality.

Those look cool but thats not the Imperium. They like steel and big gunz, Gunz so big they make Orks accuse them of overkill.

Always always take a tank over a thin skinned walker.

Accuse them? No...Orks love the fact that the IoM fields big guns. Saves the greenskins the effort of making them themselves

But yeah, the titans in titanfall do not match the aethestic or the MO of the IoM.

Pfft. Drop Sentinel could take one of those out in seconds.

It's more mobile and more heavily armed.

The Tyranids should have the Kaiju! That would be awesome.

The IoM doesn't really need titanfall titans though. They already have quite a few big walkers and they have maybe too much stuff in general. Also the titanfall titans don't fit the look of the IoM. They don't really fit in with any army really.

Rare doesn't mean uncommon.

Nearly every major Imperial offensive will include Titan legions. Each Forge World also has a dedicated Titan legion to defend it.

Unwieldy is also not true. Knights and Warhounds are plenty mobile to keep the enemy out of the blind spots of the Reavers, Warlords, and Imperators so they can maintain the long range firepower. Those 3 largest classes are more like mobile artillery platforms its true, but that's all they need to be.

The Imperial Guard also have super heavy tanks as standard issue. Maybe only 1-3 per armored regiment, but that is still plenty.

Nope. Kaiju are bigger than most of the biotitans we've seen, unless I'm mistaken, and Gundams are capable of flight and possess melee capabilities irrc. They also have aesthetic differences; Gundams look like giant robo-samurai, and Kaiju are like giant mutated deep sea creatures.

Now what the Tau do have, anime wise, are early Code Geass Knightmare frames.

Not to mention even if there isn't a Titan around there will be hundreds of LRBTs and man-portable lascannons firing at whatever armored threat there is. Lets not even discuss the ungodly amount of artillery and air support.

As an avid Toho fan, no, Kaiju simply mean strange beast, which is typically defined as "large strange beast". A lot of tyranids qualify for that definition, one in particular comes to mind.

Well, yeah. If you go by the standard definition of kaiju, most nids are kaiju.

I was talking specifically about the pacific rim varients though.

Uhm, the Forge World bio-titans are... kinda titchy compared to where they should be. Just so you're aware. The Dominatrix, for example, comes up to a Warlord's head at the shoulder and is significantly longer, being ant-shaped.

Really? She's that big 0_o?

I thought she would be around warhound size height wise.

You know, have they ever done a speculation on just how big the Norn Queen is compared to the different sizes of titans?

"There is a cancer eating at the Imperium. With each decade it advances deeper, leaving drained, dead worlds in its wake. This horror, this abomination, has thought and purpose that functions on an unimaginable, galactic scale and all we can do is try to stop the swarms of bioengineered monsters it unleashes upon us by instinct. That's the thing, Norn Queens just live on them, and tend to birth most of the swarm as either larvae or eggs. So, it's hard to speculate on the size of the infamous ol' ladies.

Well, it would be limited by the size of the space craft. If a large tyranid vessal is 1000km height, then we can assume the maximum height may be ~800km.

Considering how much young the Norn Queen churns out, we also have to assume it must be fairly large, maybe at least the size of a US aircraft carrier?
