Why did they bother making a new hell brute model when no one seems to use the thing?

Would you have preferred they didn't make a model for a codex entry, which previously didn't have one?

There is no hell brute model.

There is a new Helbrute model, which is something that people have been asking for as something available outside Dark Vengeance since the box dropped.

People who adhere to WYSIWYG may now be able to field one with the right equipment.

Unless they already bought the fair better looking chaos aliened Forge World ones.

hehehehe. Hellbrute.....

You know, not EVERYONE buys their stuff based on a WAAC list or its efficacy in battle. *rolls eyes*

Some people enjoy the hobbying aspect and like to build and paint. Some also collect. A lot do both. If the model is nice, it will sell, regardless of stats.

The model is ok looking I guess, though their nurgle one looks like he is about to release a toxic cloud if you know what I mean.

Game wise helbrutes are sort of bad juju for me. Both times I used one it went crazed at the exact wrong moment in the exact wrong way. Managed to take a hull point from an overwatched grenade, and he decided to go into fire frenzy, thus stopping my charge.
Alternatively, I had a missile/las one and it kept getting the "run forward and punch them" one

Because it is a cool concept with some pretty cool art and deserves a WYSIWYG model to show off on the table. It also isn't that bad and works just fine in casual play.

It probably has fronts for all 9 legions or something . Still a stupid choice of a new model , no one plays with walkers in 6th ed.

Let's just pretend that it's not coming out, and then 6.5 ed makes Walkers not suck anymore - then suddenly everyone's in GW's grill for still not having a proper Helbrute model.

Yeah, I love that new model (maybe even more then the FW Legion specific ones ), and will probably pick one up at some point. Just because the Helbrute isn't a great unit, doesn't make it unusable. There is very little in the CSM elites slot competing to be used, and a lone naked Helbrute charging a flank can do a surprising amount of damage if your opponent ignores it, and guess what: if they don't ignore it, and dedicate some firepower to kill it, you also win, since that's less guns pointing at your more valuable units.

Not counting starter sets, there have been 4 plastic Space Marine Dreadnoughts. This is the first Chaos Space Marine one. It's a long, long, long time coming. Like since 1996 long. As for "nobody uses it" well, Games Workshop doesn't care. They make models to look cool.

It looks like it has more weapon options than the SM dread included in the box. As opposed to lascannon, assault cannon, missile launcher, and DCCW; you get autocannon, plasma cannon, two DCCW, those tendril things, thunder hammer, heavy bolter, multimelta, and lascannon. All of which the savvy converter could easily magnetize.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Its kinda mediocre on the table top but I have fun with it. That being said I'm definitely getting one of them when I finish painting some other things first. The model is very nice. I especially like the look of the power scourge even though I don't care for it ruleswise. I will probably magnetize all the weapons and then make my DV 'brute able to use them as well.

Termagant / Hormagaunt = Correct!
Termagaunt / Hormagant = This one is actually kinda stupid and is forgivable.

Quick edit:
Red Terror = Correct!
Red Horror = I presume this would be some dreadful Tzeentchian/Khorne hybrid spawn.

I love the diversity of the new Helbrute model. I will be getting one for the modelling and painting side, for my plague marines. Love that tentacle arm and the crab claw.

What if it was a TS sorc. interred before the Rubric and he kept mutating in the dread, nowhere are we told that the Rubric reversed the mutations, just that it stopped them.

Bam, story explained.

Except why he can't use his enhanced psychic abilities.

Unless he's too crazy to focus.

Just a guess but... maybe because they are a model making company? Maybe because not everyone buys models for the same reason you do? Maybe because many people buy models to paint with no intention of ever playing them? Maybe GW was worried that you were running out of things to complain about on the internet?

I really like halebrots even though they might not be so viable, I really want to make a triple hullbrewt list with a warpsmith backing them up even though three multi-meltas aren't really that scary. Hellbrats can also provide armor saturation if you already used up all your HS slots. Wish there was a holbutt special character though.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

What I don't understand (well, I can - it is because it would cost them more to do) is why they can't put more points of articulation on their larger models. The Helbrute looks like it has its feet stuck in the mud and is looking around confused and angry.

It also really annoys me when they model big hammers with really short shafts sticking 90 degrees out of the model's hand, usually with the elbow bent at 90 degrees... At least make it a little dynamic, or break up the arms so we can pose them properly!
