So this is my basic Ravenwing force I've played around 4 games with it and I'm loving it so far but any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I started running the chaplain because of how much i like the lore but i have found him to be quite devastating if i run him with the command squad flanked by the 2 attack squads. Nothing has survived that many bolter/plasma/stasis grenade shots and the following assault

and capture points aren't really a problem because i can just combat squad everything/ run my land speeders up last second to deny him of any objectives and since run them as 3 different squads then my opponent can only shoot/assault one of them if the game continues past turn 5

the big things i know i need to work on is anti flyer with my devastators. I know its not a good idea to mix and match the weapons of a devastator squad this is just the models i have. I am also considering getting an aegis defense line but so far ive just rode ride past flyers or get into combat before they have a chance to shoot me but of course thats not gonna be the case everytime.

Anyway any thoughts would be great

What is the purpose of that sole Deathwing Squad in there?

Never ever put plasma on RW Bikes. Black Knights are plain better in every regard, safe scoring. use Melta instead.

Your Landspeeders are shizophrenic. You either use them to suicide deep strike a big vehicle with multi meltas or equip them with Typhoons for long range shooting.
Same goes for your devastators.

oh, whoops i knew i was forgetting something. Yes he has a bike.
to be honest i just have the models, but i do plan on getting 2 boxes of black knights soon
fair enough, im still pretty new to the game so plasma just seemed nice for the extra shots
i'm sorry i dont know what you mean by "shizophrenic"?

i really appreciate the advise i will definitely get some black knights and try out melta guns

It just means that the Assaut Cannon has a larger effective range of 24", whereas you want to get close to use the melta.
Landspeeders are fragile, so your weapons contradict in their usefulness. You want to stay away with the AssCan, but you want to get close to use the MultiMelta.

Usually the loadout is HB/Typhoon for 36" effective range or double MM for Deep Strike Madness.

Assault Cannons are 15 points too expensive for what they do, on a land speeder. In editions of yore, maybe, but right now they are just not good at anything. Not good enough against troops because only AP4, not good enough against armor because it only does something if you roll 6s.

Also, the Lion's Roar is terrible, especially on a bike where you don't need it's Assault 1 shooting due to relentless. Also, you have to give up a bolt pistol and therefore a close combat attack on a guy designed to be a close combat monster. Save yourself 20 points and just don't take it.

Also also, you don't have a legal army. You only have one Troops choice, in that Ravenwing Attack squad.

i suppose, i was just thinking more along the lines of versatility but i guess that just means i wont be as good in either field. So far its just been nice in conjunction with all my other plasma cannons focusing on one unit in a tern ( my friend takes typhus and 30 cultists as a unit a lot) but i never considered the extra attack but now that i remember i can get that yes i will not take that in the future.

sorry i didnt want to post the attack squad twice so i just put an x2 to represent there being 2 squads

also beerhammer i figured id be ok because i could combat squad everything
