I have never been able to sit down and read the fluff besides that which comes with the codex. My IG army has about 12 or so tanks (half artillery, half Leman Russ) as well as two superheavy tanks (one shadowsword, one baneblade). I was wanting some inspiration in terms of fluff for this army. I was hoping that I could find a paint scheme as well as some names and cool lore for the vehicles.

Thanks much in advance!

On the simple side, major recruitment worlds will normally have the ability to field armoured regiments, so just pick a famous one that you like the sound of. Alternatively maybe go through the 40k wikis that are kicking about online and find a more obscure homeworld, or make your own up. Colour schemes can also be anything from bare metal silver through parade ground bright colours all the way through to sophisticated camo schemes, depending on the regiment's history, tradition and current posting. You can even justify different schemes for eachtank on the basis of a battlegroup amalgamated from a bunch of different regiments, or just that some of the vehicles have been pushed into combat before they had a chance to get a new paint job for the current world.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

This does have an example regiment (19th Kong Armoured Regiment) but the list is not actually regiment specific and can be used for any of the known IG forces.

DKoK had their own specific armoured army list. They are the only ones of the major faction I know of that have specifically had something published.

Just pick whatever regiment you want except Elysians and probably Catachans as that sort of setup goes against their combat doctrines. Pretty much any of the major worlds could field those forces in that combination without blinking.
