I'm thinking of doing a conversion because I don't like Azrael figure. Does anyone have any ideas or tips on making one? I like the space marine in the cover for the DA and I saw an amazing conversion on deviant art but I was wondering if I can draw from examples from the dakka dakka board.

I have the same problem, but I instead just use the DV company master
same weapons loadout, and you can swap the head if you wanted to.

Vanguard Veteran relic blade, maybe fill in the word with putty, stern guard veteran combi plasma, for the gun, and use DA veteran or sterguard parts for the body and head?

Not sure how to make a watcher with helmet though unless you already have one.

The DV master is a solid choice, as already pointed out.

Another option would be to knock up Azrael in what ever way you see fit (so DA robed body, a helmet with wings attached) and have him firing a combi-plasma with two hands. Or just wielding the gun and doing something else such as pointing, reading a book, etc. Then use the Watcher with the sword from the DW kit to fill out the rest.

remove shield arm replace with bolter
add some imperial symbols

I kit-bashed my company master by using the DA chapter upgrade sprue and the cloaked torso back from the last edition Space Marine captain.

Basically, get a DA veteran marine body, cut away at the back section and put the captains back torso on it. This way, I got a very very robed marine body and added a combi-plas and a lightning claw for mine.

If you want it looking like Azrael, use the relic blade from the vanguard box as mentioned above and any combi-plasma you fancy.

I'd be tempted to use the helmet from the DV captain too. The feathers are quite a bit bigger than the option on the upgrade sprue and they just 'look' better in my opinion. It's also less fiddly to sort them out as they are already part of the helmet.

If you do go down the two-handed combi-plas route, have a look at the Deathwing sergeant power sword coupled with the one from the Grey Knights box (the one where its sticking out of a Daemon's head)

This could give you a nice mini with the Sword still in the picture without it being handled
