Anyone here play Deepwars? Alpharius and I played a demo game at Adepticon on a beautifully modelled board and I ended up picking up the rule book and have ordered some starter sets from the Troll Trader. Next thing I need to do is to sort out the board - I have a blue sea gaming mat of sorts (the Dreadfleet one) that will suffice for the time being but I think I will upgrade to the Deep Cut Studios one soon. Terrain is easy enough to find at the local pet store. Anyone know where I can get some rocky hill type features? Obviously they need to be rock as they are underwater but don't need to be massive, it's just to add some depth (pun not intended) to the board. I can then put the fake coral and sea plants on and around them. Do Gale Force Nine do that sort of thing? I'm useless at modelling terrain so would prefer to buy it pre made where possible.

Secondly, does anyone know where to get hold of the Deepwars swim stands? These ones specifically:

They are a handy way of showing which models are at elevated depth levels. I'm hoping that Litko or similar will do some but I can;t for the life of me find any.

I'd bet those are custom jobs. May want to email Antimatter about them.

EDIT: LOL or go to their site: http://antimatter-games.com/products-page/miniatures/deepwars/accessories/#store

Yeah, I saw the ones in the store but they are still showing as pre-order (they were released last year I believe) which makes me think their is a hitch in them selling them. I was hoping they were a generic base that had been adapted and that I could get hold of in the UK.

Well, if you get in touch with them please post the answer!

I backed the kickstarter and have the Ancients of Atlan starter. Loved the depth of the rules and a lot of the fluff in the rule book, but haven't gotten past assembling and priming the models due to lack of interest locally.

Though if Alph starts one more game that I have models for I may be forced to track him down and make him play with me!

No wargames these days, more DM/Painting.

I paint things occasionally. Some things you may even like!

They have a table for this at my local store (and stock it, too). It looks pretty cool, and definitely right up your alley, filbert
