This might sound like a silly question (probably asked before me but i cant find it) but i have primed my herald of khorne after i washed it in warm water with some soap in it. After it dried i primed it using army painter black primer but somehow the stuff didn't catch or something because i can simply scratch it of using my finger nail without ease. I am quite scared for this because im a nail biter and if my primer flakes of this simple, painting it is going to be a pain. What did i do wrong :(

I've tried hand soap, dish soap, water, brushes, etc.... that mould release stuff just doesn't come off.
You know what I've found works the best? I wet my fingers a little bit and just rub all the parts until the mould release agent comes off. I've done it enough I can feel when a part still has the chemical on it. It just has a different tactile feel.
Just plain 'ol friction and elbow grease works the best for me.

Make sure to scrub the model with a toothbrush or similar equivalent. Just washing/rinsing the model in soapy water won't cut it.

I've never washed any of my models before painting them.. should i be worried? This includes finecast too.. They all seemed to paint fine, all varnished now too.

wel everybody has there own experiences i guess. Mine are all terrible. My first finecast model the primer went gritty on some parts and just glued a piece of his arm back on since it has broken off. My second experience is my herald which is lying in the a bucket of soap and water again to remove the primer

I use a quick bath in Simple Green (which is a degreaser) and a scrub with an old toothbrush. Then rinse well and let dry. After that , you should have no problem with your primer.
