Greeetings All,

I moved to the OC to go to school, but I live in Garden Grove -- I recently picked up all my warhammer stuff from my parent's house, and wanted to get back into the action (I haven't played since 6th edition just came out)

I looked online, and I could only find 3 hobby places in O.C. for GW stuff:

1) Westminister GW store (I guess it used to be an amazing place called the Battle Bunker, that attracted people from LA as well, and had many tables, but that's dead)
2) Tustin GW Store
3) (The store right by my house!) Brookhurst Hobbies

However, most of these gaming nights are Friday or Monday, and only run until 7 -- I have been to #1 and #3 a few times, and I've never seen people in there playing.

I've looked for tournament information, etc -- no avail. (*** EDIT: I just noticed there are PMs on DAKKA, and I read it -- found the tournament links -- sorry for being THAT GUY)

It's extremely depressing because I've loved Warhammer since middle school, and Sacramento (where I used to live) had an amazing community of WHFB players and there were regular tournaments.

I can't find that here, and I assume it's because I'm not looking well enough.

Please! Let me know you thoughts!

(The worst case scenario is having to drive out to L.A. or Riverside -- assuming Guild Works is still there )

I used to go to the LA Battle Bunker before they shut down last year. It was a great shop and remains sorely missed. :(

I am not sure how convenient Lakewood would be for you but there is a shop called The Bunker that is supposed to be pretty nice. I have never been but I believe some former LA Battle Bunker staff were involved in opening up the shop in Lakewood.

I have yet to get to one of these tourneys or the store, but I hear good things. Once on summer vacation I'll try to get there.

One regular is an eldar player (usually eldar, but he plays other armies) named Adam (handle bar moustache) who is *really* good, like, GT winning good. Be wary.

poster nickthewise has a running thread for his tourney series:

There is Mercenary Market near the 55. And Brookhurst Hobbies has specific days for playing 40k. I think they have a Meet Up page?

If you are willing to go a bit north, Lakewood Bunker is a descent place to play. Further north of that you have Game Empire in Pasadena. To the south, there is Comic Quest and the Portola GW store, both small but friendly. Alas, Mercenary Market is closing its doors, so that will not be an option.
