Hey guys.

pretty much a noob at x-wing having only started a few weeks ago and was wondering what is your favourite Pilot with Upgrades to run in your lists.

I have just discovered Soontir Fel and PTL which I am really enjoying at the moment.

Looking forward to hearing your replies!

Soontir Fel with PTL and a stealth device is the best single ship in the game. Tons of actions, hard to hit, yeah, he's fantastic.

Chewie with a gunner, Millenium Falcon Upgrade and an anti-pursuit laser is another fun for me. He can't get critt'd, he gets rerolls for attacks that eat focus/evades from your opponent, and can evade, plus anyone hitting him to stay "safe" from attacks gets hit by the APLs. Range 3 is the safest place to be, while still being able to shoot at him.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Turr Phennir w/ Veteran Instincts and Stealth Device is my current favorite. Agile, evasive, and his post-attack barrel roll/boost at PS9 is god-tier trolling.

Turr is far more a favorite of mine, but I can't deny that Fel is better in game. And I think that's what the OP wanted.

My favorite is probably Porkins with PTL, Engine Upgrade, and that hull repair droid. If I ever use his ability with only one hull left I make sure to tell my opponent "I can hold it!".

A close but expensive second would have to be Ten Numb with PTL, Engine Upgrade, Advanced Sensors, and Autoblaster.

That is quite an expensive pilot! Who would you team him up with to best make use of his abilities?

I'm guessing that with Advanced Sensors and PTL, you could take two actions and then perform a green maneuver?? Would that then remove the Stress Token?

My favorite combo has to be captain jonus with homing missiles, and squad leader. It's not that he's all that cool, but he makes my other 3 bombers murder ships.

My favorite: dagger squadron b-wing with advanced sensors and optional heavy laser cannon. Once rebel aces comes out it's going to be Farlander with the same: the best pilot in the fluff, flying the best ship in the game, with an ability that feels like you're cheating every time you say "spend a stress token to make those into hits".

I would be very reluctant to put 37 points into a ship that has so little durability and no way of regaining lost HP. Not only are you now committed to a 3-ship list, you're committed to a 3-ship list where your other two ships are severely limited in what they can take. Once Wedge dies (and he will die just as fast as a rookie pilot) you're pretty much screwed.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

It's a balls out type list against non-swarm for sure, but it is fun to uber a unit from time to time! Also, don't underestimate the a-wing prototype for jamming in the 3rd on the cheap, it usually leaves enough to get a second hard hitting or buffing ship -

With the z-95 now an option, does that make this a little more viable?

I know things will change when the Rebel aces hit, but as it stands now what is the best load out for the b? I could see getting carried away if one isn't careful. I'm thinking of using bbzzz maybe?

Been running this a lot lately. Really liking how it works. Had an extra 3 points the other day so I slapped a stealth device on too, and when I remembered it it was amazing.

I'm currently enjoying Lt Blount (Z95) with an Assault missile (usually teamed up with a couple of other missile armed Z95s and some X-wings).
Keeps the Swarm players on their toes while still giving me a nice alfa strike against smaller high value lists (dual Falcon, Trip-Fire Sprays, etc)

Chewie with 3p0 and falcon title is an absolute tank. No crits, two guaranteed evades per turn, and decent 360 damage output.

It's expensive though.

Tycho - PTL, chardaan refit, prototype pilot title, predator. Predator is practically free & with PTL Tycho can get into good position for range 1 shots to hunt down low PS pilots especially academy & blues.

Kyle Katarn - moldy crow, blaster turret, shield upgrade, recon specialist. Helpful to combine him with Garven Dreis to maximize his ability.

Corran Horn

Coming in at a "measly" 53 points. But man, did it teach me how to fly better, especially if I combine him with, for the other 47 points:

Etahn Ab'aht

Push The Limit
Proton Torpedoes

I like you. :-p

I too am a big fan of the Kyle Katarn/Garvin Dreiss focus-a-thon. Lately i've found giving Garven the astromech who heals shields for a focus after combat to be a killer part of the combo. It makes Garvin really durable or makes the opponent waste shots taking out Kyle who isn't much of a loss to your list once he is gone.

Indeed but with an almost bottomless cache of focus tokens Kyle can take awhile to take down & played right by the time he's actually engaged with the enemy he should have a couple massive stacks of focus. I find Garven works better with R2-D2 personally as I WANT him using his focus in combat so someone else can get it like Wedge who can then spend it on the aforementioned R5-P9.

I too am a fan of Kyle at the moment. Especially when ran with Garvin. Throw Biggs + R5-P9 + Shield in there too and it works a treat as long as you maneuver well..

Dutch Vander with that droid that gives Target Lock + Boost as one action. And an ion turret, obviously. Zoom right past something, lock it and ion it in the ass while passing off a free lock to a buddy to boot.

Blount with assault missiles and that new pilot talent that does 1 damage to a model within 1 of the target. Scored 4 points of damage against the 4-TIE brick formation even though I "missed."

Predator on everything. Everything.

Its points heavy for an Imperial list but Tie Phantom with Echo and Advanced Cloaking Device (maybe with additional upgrades) has been my new favorite.

I have been running Echo with the following"

Advanced Cloaking Device
Veteran instincts
Advanced sensors
Rebel Captive

The advanced cloaking device is there to get you to cloak after you attack, because, echo dies when not cloaked. Advanced sensors lets you move and adjust as needed. Rebel captive gives out that stress token, makes it easier to take out the ships after they attack.
