Like in your journey of playing and collecting what specific thing did you find a love for be it in a certain army, painting style or modelling.

For me it was when I modeled my first guard tank and discovered a love for modeling up tank tracks, since then I knew guard would be a good army for me.

I always thought the tracks to be the worst part. that and keeping the pintle mounts/searchlights intact.

I really like the bright colours the SM cover themselves with, even in this grimdark setting.

I simply love how Cadian bayonets get bent in my army case. Makes me all tingly.

I used to hate tracks but once I figured out a system it was really fun seeing it come together, it really does bring the models look to a finish.

The enemies of Mankind may employ dark sciences or alien weapons beyond Humanity's ken, but such deviance comes to naught in the face of honest human intolerance back by a sufficient number of guns.

Soft-tone wash on my Orks. I wanted to use a bright-blue for my deff skulls, but of course that looks weird on orks. So the soft-tone wash took care of all the shading and give them all a nice dirty, ork feel to them. Like Desert raiders. It really made them look awesome.

I started to play SoB because I liked their idea; to me they feel like they're only ones who are heroically defending humanity but still very much human. I've never liked the idea of superhuman awesome gunslingers, and the Imperial Guard Astra Millitarum have always felt too much like 'tanks and living cover saves for said tanks'.

That and the Sisters of Battle properly kick grimdark in the face
