Manticores:
A versatile option that can engage a wide variety of targets, but suffers badly from its poor Ap value, seriously hampering its ability against hard targets.
Deathstrike:
It doesn't even matter what its stats are. I mean, just look at the thing. You know which one is awesomer.

I see death strikes getting a lot of use going forward. Don't forget that the hit must be resolved against the top floor of a ruin. Which makes hiding from them a possibility. The ability to fire much faster is nice though.

Depends.
Do you like your opponent going, "I wonder how much that'll hurt. Maybe I can prioritize/ignore it."
Or do you want them going,
"Either I kill that thing, or it kills me."
Manticores are high priority. Deathstrikes are the highest. Worse comes to worse, massive bullet sponge and distraction carnifex!

Manticors for reliable bombardment. Deathstrike for lols and occasionally having epic massacre while sometimes nothing at all.

Deathstrike, because.....NUKE
In all seriousness though deathstrikes are crazy good. So they get one shot to remove it before you start rolling. The thing about death strikes is not the damage they do, its how they control your opponents movement and actions. If it forces him to bunch up under a ruin or spread out to sub optimal positions, or spend a turn running? Or over commit to kill it, it has made its points back.
MAnticore is more of a tournament unit I would say but deathstrikes....they are fun

I dont' know, I think the deathstrike might be the better even for tournaments.
The manticore will throw pie plates at that parking lot, taking a hull point off of multiple vehicles every time it fires. The deathstrike points at every vehicle in a 10" diameter and blows half of them up straight away, while the others take a hull point and an immobilization or weapon destroyed. The manticore will spend the whole game failing to remove scoring units from cover, while the deathstrike will just erase them.
The manticore is sort of a high-strength large blast autocannon. The deathstrike is the apocalypse.

Just recently built a deathstrike, it was mainly for the S10 AP1 blast, since i found my melta/lascannon teams were pretty easy to kill. If you don't move or get it hurt on the first turn it can then fire on a roll of a 3. This makes it a higher target yes but its pretty easy to defend. Plus my vets can then go up the board edge and pop a few small units or take a point.

Not in 7th nomore, bud. Everything under a blast marker is toast.
Everything.

I didn't see the outcome, but I saw a death strike allied turn invisible at the start of turn 1. Made me laugh.
