Hey chaps. Painted up an assault ram for a client recently. Got a few more vehicles on the way too. What do you guys think?

I like it. However I thought it would be a bit more chaotic. Great work though.

The freehand work is exceptional. I'd love to see more spikey bits and maybe some actual 3d wings represented somehow!

Yeah the client didn't want any chaosy bits adding, so I assume its for a pre-heresy force? Either that or he dislikes the whole spiky marines thang.

Needs more lightning imo.

I don't much think the lightning sits well with the rest of the paintjob, it looks unfinished and is distracting for all of the wrong reasons.

That said, the skull is phenomenal and the rest of the paintjob is awesome, the overall cleaner look (no chaos symbols and spikes plastered all over) works for Night Lords quite well I think.

As a personal preference, I'd weather it a bit more but I'm just nitpicking in the extreme now. It's a wonderful job overall, the new owner must be very pleased!

I love the freehand and the blue is very smooth. I do think more lightning would up the contrast though. Some of the flat areas look underdeveloped and bland being only blue.

love the freehand chapter symbol; that came out really well. this is a great looking model. a few small quibbles: the blue feels a bit too bright for me; I always imagine nightlords as being darker. needs more lightning, to help break up some of the flat surface areas. I'd like to see heavier weather in the prow; it's a ram, after all.

Thanks for all the comments guys. The client specifically asked for only a small amount of lightning, same goes for the weathering. One of the key points of being a commission painter is following the clients wishes, regardless of what my personal tastes may be.

Definately missing something. Looks like an ultramarine vehicle. with the night lord insignia. No reflection on your skills whatsoever, theyre exemplary, it just doesnt look chaos.

The painting is good with great quality freehand but seems bland and unfinished, needs some grounding in.
