Seeing as how there isn't a 30k forum I thought I would start this thread.

As some of you may have already seen, there were a bunch of new models unveiled at the Horus Heresy Weekender, but that was only part of the fun.

There was a plasticine and Lego model building contest and I was fortunate enough to be part of the group that won it, here is our Lego Daemon Primarch Perturabo...(for those of you who wondered in and don't know much about the Heresy, he was the primarch of the Iron Warriors.

It was an amazing experience, being from the United States I didn't know what to expect, but everyone here made the experience absolutely amazing.

Here are a couple more photos, taken by myself and some of the members of my group...

This is the Thanatar, a heavy support choice for the Adeptus Mechanicum during the time of the Great Crusade and the Horus Heresy

This is Mortarion, long awaited primarch of the Death Guard who would go to become the current era Plague Marines

I already have this set, but I picked up a copy to put into a charity event my gaming group puts on every year at Christmas time. These two books make it a lot easier for normal 40k gamers to get into 30k. Lead Heresy designer Allan Bligh was even kind enough to sign them for me.

This is one of my favorite pictures, although it isn't a picture taken at the Weekender. I took this Friday evening before getting into a large Kill Team game at Warhammer World. I have been playing this game off and on since the days of Rogue Trader so this was a pilgrimage of sorts for me, to see where it all started was great. This is one of the tables you can game on at Warhammer World.

If anyone has any interest I took loads of pictures from the event and would be glad to post more. There are plenty of pictures already in the Forge World thread in the News and Rumors section also but I would be happy to post mine here.

Cheers

Did you design this before or after Centurion Devastator squads were released? I just want to know where GW got their inspiration ^^

On a serious note, that's pretty cool and the other models you took pictures of look sweet - I wish I had been there

OK that's one impressive fortress, you'd need a huge army to make it even seem normal looking but damn that's a epic battlefield

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

I have no clue how Dakka's moderation work. I expect it involves throwing a lot of d100 and looking at many random tables.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

Awesome Perturabo, and good to hear you had a good and interesting time. I imagine this is what Games Days used to be like before it was a glorified shop. Please post more pics, the HH stuff is always cool.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
This is a shot of my Mechanicum army facing off against Iron Hands, the mission we had was being played on several table, and might end up in the next Horus Heresy book. We tied 3-3

Looks like a great time. I'd love to go next time.

What is different between the 2 volume red HH books and the Ginormous Main HH books?

If we wanted to play two legions from book 2 or 3 would it work well to just add the army list red book to the one we go with?

The difference is you get JUST the rules and core background, none of the "lore" (for want of a better word) that you get in the main book, and in an easier to use format being such a smaller set of books.

If you want to play a generic SM LEgion then you only need the main rules, to play all of the 10 (? think so) spepcific legions you needthe legion book. YOu may also need the main books to play the full mechanicum army - cant quite recall now if every unit made it across.
