Hey Everyone!

First time making my own thread so have mercy if I do something wrong. My friend suggested I show off these greenstuffed Vostroyans I made for an admech theme. Hopefully you all will have something to say about them, good or bad. I made GS press molds and fit them over the existing face (in case later I want the mini without the mask). Below are the results and a pic of the molds I made and what they produced. I'm pretty surprised by how well the molds worked but if anyone knows how to make them better let me know. Thanks! And apologies ahead of time if these turn out to be sideways, I notice that happens on accident a lot.

Hey looking really good

the gas masks add a really nice touch to alter up the models, are you going to go with a colour theme to match? such as a winter theme? or keeping them as classic gas masks?

Have you heard of oyumaru? its a press molding product. Its basically a rubber you put in hot water, it goes soft, you press in your piece to copy, leave it to go hard over 10 mins. Then take out the piece and press GS into the mold. it works really well, is re-useable and very cheap.

The stuff is also know as Instant Mould. You might find it under this name as well.

The advantages compared to GS molds are that it is reuseable, GS doesn't stick to it and it is more flexible. Finished copies are a lot easier to remove.

And your results are looking really good. You retained most of the sharper details. A great result for a first try.

Excellent work. Copying full faces like that & then transferring them is not easy.

@Solar & Doomhammer Thanks for the info, I'll have to try this stuff. Removing the copies wasn't too tough but avoiding the wait time would be great.

@Red_StarriseMade & Skull krusha Thanks for the compliments! Carving down the copies and getting them to fit right was the hardest part.

for cutting and shaping GS, I find a GS/milliput mix much more forgiving and easier to work with. This is a trick I actually picked up off of Doom, milliput is hard and brittle and sandable. Whereas GS is flexible and rubbery. a 50/50 mix gives you a nice medium where its still got some flexibility but is also much easier to cut and sand.

Plus milliput is cheaper I think, so you can make your mixes go alot further.
