Ok, this sound like a weird question (And it is), but looking at a SW model without a helmet I realized that the head isn't connected to a neck. It just appears to be directly connected to the torso on its own. So, do they have necks?

Yes. Of course, they are so muscle-stacked that, like any regular human who gets that swoll, their necks will be all but invisible.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Also, the bare-headed model's head directly connects with the model's armoured torso, so the neck may be hidden by the collar of said armour..

This. Remember that Marine armour is really thick, so the fact that Marine heads stick out of their collar rings entirely indicates they actually have pretty long necks

Great, now I'm imagining a Marine with a giraffe sized neck

Impossible! Do you DARE imply that GW would use such frivolous things as "Artistic Liberty" when designing miniatures? HERESY!
That would mean Guardsmen AREN'T 7 feet tall like the Astartes!

The coller on armour is quite deep and some even has raised ridge up front of the chest armour

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

Maybe yours aren't.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

Yeah, this.

Mine are not entirely to scale but a damn sight closer than retail ones.

40k miniatures are very stylized so their proportions are way off. The weapons are the most noticeable victims of their weird scaling system. The Laspistol is almost as big as a man's chest.

Now all I can think of is this... just wish I had enough photo editing skill to slap power armor on him.

They probably do have overdeveloped traps, though - which would make it appear as thought they had no necks.

Like the roid monkeys who lift and whom can't hold their arms out straight out in front of them and bring their palms together (pecs too big, biceps too big) and they turn their upper body in order to turn their heads.

Yes they do.

Also, Forge World is far superior at scaling for their art than GW.
