I kind of like these. It's a neat little way of doing it, especially since they're labeled "1, 2, 3, 4"...but with an extra "1"(I think someone forgot how to count. ).

Not that they're worth it to me, personally, as I have all the clippers I could ever need...

I'm not sure about the GD's skull jewellery but I like the box art.

I think the 1's deliberate. It is a starter kit after all.

I don't need any of those, but I think I might have to get one just for the box.

i still have all those old paint sets, in working order, as well...

i haven't bought GW paints since 2006, when P3 came out, but i like that the Demon is back...
luckily, the PP studio just sent me an 8lb. box with their entire paint, wash, and ink range in it, for free...

Might pick up the wash set as well, there's some bundle savings to be had and you can never have too much variety when it comes to washes.

Love the old school box art! Unfortunately GW are just so expensive compared to the competition, and quality is very similar to Vallejo and P3. I still use GW metallics but everything else I use a different brand now.

I don't think these are listed as direct only so your friendly internet discounter will give you another 10%-15% off this.

However, do not forget the GW's prices for things like glue, clippers and such are usually much higher than alternative suppliers at similar quality so any "saving" is only compared to buying from GW.

Edit: I think my numbers are correct, if anybody gets a different (sterling) figure, give me a shout.

Not hugely relevant to me in terms of product, but the fact that GW continue to bundle and discount, and have only really been doing so since 'that' financial report could be hugely significant in terms of demonstrating a change in attitude at GWHQ.

has anyone else been able to find the new painting tutorial videos that GW said would be on their website? i tried the address they put in the WD, but it just brings me to the page to buy paints, no tutorials in sight....

Like the return of the painting demon and a better white in the starter set. Seems like a great release.

Absolutely love the box-art! Very nice little nod to the history there and also very well done in its own right.

Now, they just need to start doing box art on everything else as well again

Though the box art is great I'm nonplussed by these...

.....plus £45 for a Hobby Starter set is a joke....but then isn't all GW pricing to be fair :(
