Due to the new wording of Interceptor, you no longer can shot at full BS at ground targets if you have skyfire.
This posses a very difficult problem for you ADL users as your AAA battery can only snap-shot ground targets now. Given certain units only have skyfire and Interceptor, which includes most turret batteries on fortifications, what could this mean for including said fortifications like a Firestorm Redoubt?

So your Quad Gun is only useful against Necrons, Eldar, Daemons, Tyranids, Chaos and Dark Eldar. Boo Hoo. It still comes with a 4+ cover save wall. Or, Replace with a Comm Relay now that your deepstrike units are safe from autocannon death.

Not true, you have the option to "skyfire" you just have to declare if you are or not before shooting it.

Not true see first post who has it right. Or read Skyfire on Page 171 - 7th Ed Warhammer 40k rulebook.

What page would that be on the iPad version? I find it funny now for the first time I see the iPad version numbered, but 1 starts with the first book, so I am like on page 300 in the rules section.

I am glad it lost its old ability - it was overpowered compared to things like Stalkers, Hydras etc.

yeah, old Icarus Las was waaaay too good for its points. T7, 2 wounds, 3+ armor save all purpose Lascannon that can, if wielded by a character, do precision shots? Broken.
And the Quadgun, while costlier, was also a perfect jack of all trades.
If you bought an ADL you'd be stupid to not auto-include the gun emplacement.
In the new rules it has now become what it was meant to be - an option.

Saying that the Quadgun is overpowered compared to the Hydra glosses over one important fact.
The Hydra fething sucks.

Part of the reason the hydra sucked to begin with-was that everyone had quad guns, so it paled in comparison.
Once anti-air gets less available, anti-air platforms gets naturally better, if only due to the fact they get something done that others don't.

Just dont forget Skyfire affects skimmers too. So unless youre opponent has no fliers or skimmers, then it has no targets to fire at normal BS with.
Also you cannot turn off skyfire unless you are a flier, have the objective control bonus, or have a rule that is NOT skyfire like the tau that lets them turn it on or off. Just having the rule Skyfire does not let you turn it off.

In general dedicated anti-air is pretty sucky. Against an army without flyers or with not many flyers, it's not worth it's points. Against an army with a lot of flyers, it's not going to be enough. The dedicated anti-air is useless until the flyers turn up and may be dead before they do and without interceptor will probably get destroyed before it fires.
Dedicated anti-air is not like dedicated anti-infantry or dedicated anti-tank or dedicated anti-elite-infantry. Those other things will be useful in almost all games unless your opponent took a one trick pony army.

Skyfire Nexus, from the mysterious objectives table. A unit controlling the objective may choose to have Skyfire. The quad gun has skyfire inherently, so even if your unit controls the objective and mans the gun you can't choose to not use it on the gun.

I'm happy I sold my ADL just before 7E hit. I hate static emplacements. It also means my armies are severely limited in AA (Sisters, Grey Knights...) and my Eldar aren't built.
