I'm looking into going back to playing chaos sometime soon. I've played around with several faction designs and ideas, but I really like the idea of a flawless host fast attack strike force. This is what I've come up with so far:
Spoiler:
+ HQ +
Chaos Lord Aura of dark glory, Bike, Mark of Slaanesh, Power Armour, Bolt Pistol, The Murder Sword
Warlord: Personal Traits
Sorcerer Mastery Level 3, Aura of dark glory, Bike, Mark of Slaanesh, Power Armour, Bolt Pistol, Force Sword
Powers: Slaanesh Primaris, 1 Slaanesh Roll, 2 Telepathy Rolls
Chaos Bikers 9x Chaos Biker, Icon of Excess, Mark of Slaanesh, 2x Meltagun
* Chaos Biker Champion
Bolt Pistol, Power Lance
+ Fortification +
Aegis Defense Line Gun Emplacement with Icarus Lascannon
Tactics: The general tactics of the list revolves around rushing the opponent with the bike death-star (CSM Biker + Chaos Lord + Sorcerer) and both noise marine squads in rhinos. The Murder Sword is aligned most often to the enemy warlord, unless a better character presents itself (I.E Hive Tyrant, Daemon Prince, Greater Daemon, Ect.). Vs. most characters in the game the chaos lord will act first in combat. The sorcerer maintains buffs on his squad and debuffs on the enemy, while also providing the bike-star with moderate psychic defense. The noise marine squads in rhinos function as a multi-purpose shock unit. Equipped to deal with anything 3+ or lower, the marines storm the front-lines and break morale with over-whelming fire power and templates. The noise marine squad equipped with blast masters remains in the back field behind the ADL. This squad serves as the major provider of anti armor/flyer in the army.
Known Flaws: I know the force fails to effectively deal with 2+ armor saves, AV 14, and MC's, however, nothing I've thought up can deal with these problems without detracting from the list's theme and effectiveness towards MEQs and GEQs.

While true, 10 bikes seems kind of, you know... excessive.
You could drop 1 or 2 of the bikes to get some upgrades. Like a PF for the Chaos Lord, and changing the Auras of Dark Glory to SoC.
Also, Power Lance sucks balls. I suggest replacing it with an LC. Frankly, if you want to take CC weapons on the Champions, I'd go with LCs on all of them. Can't see the reason to pay 15 pts. for a weapon that has only AP4, even with +2 Strength. AP3 + Shred is much better for challenges and slaughtering MEQ in general.

I suppose my thoughts on power mauls and lance stems largely from the following, tau and eldar dominate the the current scene where I play. As a result power mauls are great both for actually being capable of wounding riptides/wraithknights and for carving through 4+ armor. The lightning claw does beat out the power sword for me every time though admittedly, but after some classic math hammer, the power lance is almost guaranteed to drop atleast one MEQ on the charge, if not two. I think that a Str 5 Ap 3 weapon hiting at I5 is great for challenges. That being said though I'll take the LCs into account and play test with them.

Honestly, I think with the greater emphasis on Psychers in 7th edition. I personally would drop the lord and bring another sorcerer and run unbound. No one is going to have an issue with this list.
Murder sword in my experience has been completely useless.
Murder sword is only useful against one model and even hen you have to get into close combat with him and then hit and would that model, it's basically a massively over priced power sword. At the moment your sinking about 50% of your army into a unit that could get wiped by a demolisher cannon. Since your going slaanesh have you considered using steeds? Not as competitive sure but the models look class and they fit the theme well

The murder sword is honestly there for scare value. Its a definite way to keep things that I don't want to be fighting away from the bikers. The bike unit, sorcerer aside, is actually very cheap, only ~400 with the lord included. As for steeds I've definitely considered a squad of spawn and a steed for the sorcerer, largely just for aesthetic value.
Well, it boils down to efficiency vs. theme. I know what I'm talking about, I've been constantly readjusting my list because of that. Just how much of the cool factor and theme can you sacrifice for the sake of efficiency?
I think that changing the Murder Sword (35 pts.) to a PF+LC combo (40 pts.) is a good idea. 4 attacks base thanks to twin Specialist Weapons, and you can pick between I6 S4 AP3 Shred weapon and I1 S8 AP2 weapon in CC. With 5 attacks on the charge you'd at least have some sort of anti-Vehicle. A classic, solid choice.

But how would he hold the bike handle bars? But really, you make a valid point. The other option I've been considering as well is to use the crimson slaughter book just for access to the relentless blade. At only three kills its +1 Str and Ap 2, and it only improves from there.

He doesn't need to hold the handle bars, he's too stoned to care
Crimson Slaughter Supplement is awesome. Frankly, I don't care about their fluff (I'm Slaaneshi Black Legion faction), but their rules are basically CSM+1. Take a look at the Daemonheart, it would grant your Chaos Lord a 2+ save and IWND.
