...I let my code expire Yeah I could have sold or auctioned it on ebay but then I would have also had to give up that little postcard with the purty picture of the mini. And I was too lazy to fill out the whole formality form on ebay to put it up on sale.

Anyways, I'm kinda glad the deadline is over and I can no longer be pressured by the inner nerd to spend 25 Euros and get that 2nd web exclusive mini.

Getting the 1st one for free for an order of 80 Euros was already borderline insanity, but I did have a long list of GW direct items I was planning on getting anyway, so no big issue there.

But then being sent a code to spend big money on a single plastic mini is borderline asinine. Especially when said mini actually just looks like a glorified sergeant and doesnt even look that impressive compared to what Forgeworld has to offer for similar pricing, or, heck, even better GW sculpts that arent overcosted and always available like Lysander or Vulkan He'Stan.

Did any of you splurge and get it, or were those of you who got the captain #1 perfectly happy with him?

I still have the old web exclusive sarge from when the now defunct gw store opened, in my collection. I think it was an offer during christmas 07 or 08 where you got him for free when you spent 50 Euros. Times sure have changed. Anyways, happy with the 1st mini. Will paint him up in proper Black Templar fashion soon.

I got the free one but I didn't want to pay for the second one. It seemed like if you wanted the second one you have to pay for the first one too as the price was about double what you would expect to pay for such a model.

I've named mine Limeticus and tried to chaos him up a bit with a chaos lord head and a backpack and shoulder pad swap but I don't think he looks evil enough, maybe I could say he's recently turned traitor. Are winged skulls an imperial thing specifically?

Anyway, I have both. They're sealed and on display in my glass cabinet with all the other rarities.

Ah, but do any of you have the drunken Christmas marines with the tree on their shoulder pads?

The model isn't great, but I'll probably get it from where I get all my hideously overpriced GW character models from. Would have to do something about all the skulls though... surely GW are just taking the piss now.
