Thanks again for nice comments!

Space marines - I just use them as a tactical squad with vet sarg and attached techmarine with rhino. Haven't had any objections from any players so far, if so then I just won't use them.

Yes the kngiht, hellhound and demolisher use a single defiler and single leman russ to build all three (obviously with a couple of added extras e.g. dozer blade and a heavy bolter or two. The defilers chasis was chopped in two, using the 'claw' section as the pelvis for the knight and the rest as the hellhound chasis.

Shoulder pads - the IG ones are standard cadian arms, with a green stuff symbols added (formed in a GS mold taken from a space marine shoulder pad. Larger Icons such as on the knight are the same thing but taken from the cog on the baneblades rear instead. Groin armour is again the same principal the original being made from plastic card - if anyones doing this i would reconmend doing each from plasticard rather than green stuff. It will give a much cleaner finish!

Armies currently on hold while I build terrain and some characters for an upcoming =I=munda corossed with 40K campagin (which will see all sorts happening, from trying to silence a vortex missile silo, trying to take an admech complex, dealing with a rouge inqusitor messing with things he shouldn't be all of which acululating in a final battle with almost two space marine companies turning on each other while the players have to try to complete their own objectives without getting killed in the cross fire! Should make quite an interesting finale!

Hi all, long time no post. I have painted up a Rhino with a few ipes added, nothing major, and a Valkerie attached from the Imperial Navy. Sorry about photo quality, still having to use a phone camera.

That green stuff work is fantastic! It's those subtleties that really bring the models to life.

Will try to get a photo tonight. Have been meaning to get it out and check it against the new codex for a few weeks, but with a show and having a couple of models in a painting competition I thought I'd wait until I had everything back together. Will also try to finally get a photo of the rhino and finish converting my conscripts.

Right, new photos.

Rhino close up, simple conversion, just an army badge and extra pipes on top

Army so far:

Clock wise from left: Demolisher, Hellhound, Battle Knight (Leman Russ), Sentinal, Valkerie, Rhino, Techmarine, Tactical Squad, Baneblade, Company Command, Tech Priest, Platoon 1 (Squad 1, Platoon Command, Anti-Tank Squad)

WIP:

Platoon 1 - Squad 2, 40 Conscripts, Leman Russ, Chimera

Tip for others - don't take photos on static grass boards, it reflects the light too much. It doesn't really look that bright in real life!

Edit for spellings (sorry!)

Enjoy

Hellhound is pretty much wysiwyg, the majority of the defiler chasis, slap the legs on, bolt on some fuel drums to the back, add a few pipes and the cupola guard from a russ for protection, chimera turret, heavy bolter and gubbins on the underside of the front. I would have liked a much bigger fuel drum on the back ala spider, but couldn't find a bit to fit without being too big, akward looking and at the time really couldn't be bothered scratchbuilding one.

Hi all.

Not a lot to show for this army, it's been absolutly chaotic at work. I'm halfway through the first batch of conscripts, but have been sidetracked by another project (also for this army) a WARLORD TITAN!!!! Keeping a separate thread for this beast, http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/257036.page

Enjoy

This is all looking very good. I think with the warlord tacked on, this'll be a very cool army. I like the colours and the whole idea of a Mech army.

When you call an intimate moment with your partner "the Assault Phase"

Is that followed by a pile-in move?

That brings a whole new meaning to the term "Hit and Run"

Can that be following a deep strike, or do you have to wait until the next round?

Right, a new update, not a lot but at least I've got some more done ready for summer games!

Veterans, these will have the grenadiers option so went for legs with a bit more armour. Not sure on colour scheme for these yet, toying with the idea of reversing the colours - black cloth with red armour. What do people think? Pic of one of the guys:

and wip chimera for them. Wanted something a little different but still recognisable. It's a bit narrower than the standard one:

Hope you like

Really nice work. If I ever get round to doing admech I shall be poaching the idea of making a walker from the defiler kit. Need to finish off My hive fleet Kraken first. Might work as part of a Genswick rifles force. *strokes chin in contemplation*.

Anyway thanks a lot of all the lovely models.

Hi all.

It'as been way too long since I've updated this so thought would give a quick one. Armies still going (on a slow burn). I've added a leman russ, the chimera's been painted, two hydras converted from chimera chasis with defence line guns, another super heavy, another troop squad and some ogryns. currently working on a converted Sly Marbo. Hope you enjoy. C&C welcome. any questions I'm happy to answer.

The ogres look amazing, I love the prime/alpha, his head unit is crazy.

I'm currently building an Ad Mech army as well, but I don't have sculpting skills, so I'm stuck using stock models from GW and models from other companies. Some conversions here and there as well.

I'll be watching this thread closely, since I'm gonna jack some ideas here and there if they're within my capabilities.

Thanks guys. Wires are guitar wires. I've very limited sculpting skills myself. Most green stuff bits are either a blob rough shaped to disguise poor joins between plastic parts or are 'moulded'e.g. shoulder guard symbols were made by making a mould by pressing green stuff over the space marine tank shoulder plate and then when dry pressing a small wet blob of green stuff into the mould and carefully prising it out and sticking to the guardsmen shoulder. Feel free to use my ideas. Most conversions are just done with clever use of existing components. I now have a pile of legless high elf archers though... Offers welcome ;-)
