Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

what I meant was pick your battles. That said, a Space Marine HQ probably has more to fear from them (S9) than they do from it, anyway.

Hmm. True but. 15 Lootas is 225pts, and really you wont want less than 12, 10 an absolute minimum. That is 150pts. While a nobz mob racks up the points very quickly you can have a viable Meganobz mob at 120pts. Just how many klaws do you need? On a points per ork meganobz work out well, so long as you can get away with not taking many. Once your big plan requires a unit of six maganobz, or therabouts then the 15 Loota comparison kicks in, and the nobz lose out big time.

The only elite choice that can 'compare' to lootas are Kommandos which in a niche role can be easily worth their points, normally armed with two burnas and a klaw nob. If you can deploy them forward and deny LOS they have good area denial capability, anything getting too close might get burned or klawed. But this is a discussion for another thread.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

I like to use Meganobz as a support Unit for my Burna Boyz, As i have a Kustom Force Field Big Mek With The Burna Boyz, Which will give them a 5+ Cover Save and they are also in a battlewagon transport with the burna boyz nearby in a looted wagon so both tanks get a 4 up cover save, this will give it more chance for your meganobz making it to the front line.

I think that even though they are slow, they are better than Nobz if you want an all power klaw squad, as it is 200 points for 5 meganobz who automatically come with power klaws where it is an extra 25 points for normal nobz which come with a slugga instead of a twin linked shoota, and that slugga won't give you an extra attack because the power klaw's two handed, so whats the point?
I understand that Meganobz will draw up a lot of fire, but that is why they were given two wounds, if you have a normal warboss with your nobz, unless you give them 'Eavy armour then they have a 6+ save, so they have more chance of falling before they reach the enemy, sure they can have a trukk or a battlewagon, but if they chose a trukk one good railgun or lascannon shot will blow it up, and then they have to walk to the enemy while being shot to bits, I'd prefer Meganobz for how they can survive, and they are more worth the points too.

Just give the mega nobs some trucks or a mega wagon and it'll easily get its points value back. ( and they look cooler than lootas! )

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all

In my experience, putting MANz in a trukk limits the unit size to be too small to be effective. Putting it in a Battlewagon means that they hit combat too late to make an impact. I personally prefer regular Nobz in a trukk. It may be a bit expensive, but it's fast, and has always gotten me into combat before the transport got shot to pieces.

How do I roll?
