Hmmm Indy's and GT's don't mix in their scoring.

Deadshane should know comparing them is comparing apples and oranges.

stjohn might not know this, but he does now if he didn't already.

You getting 6th at adepticon doesn't mean a whole lot to me personally. Maybe others will think highly of it. Given everyone seems to think adepticon is where the 'GRR serious' wargamers go and GT's are for 'awww pretty carebear' wargamers...I guess I should go, win my 5 games, and call it a day.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't think much of your rhino list. Out west, people bring lascannons and chew up tank hordes...if you call a bunch of AV11 tank hordes. Most of my standard armies would crush about half your tanks per turn, leaving you with alot of entangled troops who can't move. I don't think much of most mech lists, they're just too easy to kill. If I can drop 6 devilfish (or chimeras) and 2 hammerheads (or leman russes) in one turn...whaddya think will happen to your rhino rush army? Pop smoke and it will live? lol

Don't be mad, I know generalship means alot but I just can't be scared of your list. Killed more higher armor vehicles than you have lower armor vehicles, in a turn...so it doesn't impress.

@Deadshane: I didn't say placing, I said Battle Points. I scored 70 - which for just BP puts me at 22 or 23. I'm not saying I did great... just that no one (so far) has gotten higher. I did poorly on both rounds with Reserves (my reserve dice hated me for some reason - and both my opponents had scenario rules or bonuses to Reserves rolls to get their armies in before mine).

@Stelek: Sure, the IG + Sisters is a stronger list against some army types. Such as the ones that generally populate our FLGS. Any army that comes at my army or has a few high-value units - those the IG/Sisters do better against. But if I have to chase down the opposing army, or they have a lot of small units with high firepower output - then the static nature of the IG/Sisters can be too limiting. And it only takes one turn of rolling 1's/2's on my Exorcist shots to make the game turn ugly.

Busy somewhere, airin' out the skin jobs.

You dont think much of my list, but you've only seen some of the elements that I've posted? not the actual list?

So basically, you dont think much of my list that....you've never seen? Observed in play? Or know anything about except some of the weapons that are in it? C'mon Stelek. I know you guys play in desert terrain there in Utah where lascannon armies that cannot move rule, but that isnt the case over here on the east coast where the majority of competetive tournements are at.

and bottom line, a tourney is a tourney. He goes to one with 162 and gets 47th place, I go to another and out of 136 am a point away from best general with 6th place. Whats the difference, are GT players that much better than adepticon players? I always figured they were pretty much the same, but what do I know, I've only been to tons of GT's in the past and adepticon the past two years.

Many many lascannons are definatly a concern, but dont you think there might be a chance that I've dealt with it before? Typically at the end of a game, yes, my transports are all dead, but big deal, they're transports and expendable. I dont win the game with the armour 11 transports that you're killing.

I have never failed to seize on 4+ in my life!

Semantics. My battle points are comparable in the Championship run, ignoring the Gladiator, basically I DID get higher, just not in a GT. Especially since battle points amongst GT's themselves really arent comparable year to year. You're not "THE" big sisters player out there, as far as I'm concerned, that title would probably go to John Swann with his if I had to pick someone. Since to my knowledge, he's the only one to do anything with them that netted a trophy in a GT capacity.

As far as your dice rolls...are we moving on to blaming dice for poor results now? I know every dice I rolled during the Championship came up a six but this is a tactics discussion, we arent talking about comparing dice rolls.

Which GT did Swann win, please? I don't see any Sisters players winning anything since...the GT's started. If you are talking about a Indy, well, that isn't a GT.

About your list: Well, if you think I can't kill 6 rhinos a turn with any of my armies you are off your rocker.

About terrain at our store...what desert terrain? LOL nobody plays on that (it's for flames of war, mid-war, afrika) in a 40k game except at overloaded tournaments (which won't happen again).

Most of our boards for regular play have about 40% terrain coverage. Lascannon armies that can't move? I was actually thinking of my mech eldar and my tau, both of which can fire at ALL of your rhino units (you did say 12 tanks) and after that, who cares what's in them? Min/maxed squads of 5 stormtroopers? What's that gonna do to my 10 crisis suits? Shoot me from across the board? Slog their way forward and not get dead? Come on, be serious. Rhino rushes have been dead for a long time. You tell me I should be serious about my army lists, then you tell me you have this really good Rhino rush list but here's the winner: I use stormtroopers instead of marines and I win! Come ON, now you be serious.

Best painted a few years back, or best army, cant remember. Not a triumph in battle but more than any other sister player has accomplished thus far.

Since all this dribble is causing this thread to deviate (all the way from Seraphim's usefullness to my personal sisters vs your tau, WTF?) All I'll say is that my sisters are a strong list that are about as good as sisters can get IMHO. I dont think anyones proven that there's a better way to run them here....definatly not with Seraphim included.

...and yes, I've dealt with tau players too Stelek, your firepower is impressive, but not insurmountable. If I get first turn, it doesnt matter how much firepower you have...I'll get to you, you're done. If I don't get first turn I'll have to work harder, maybe (probably) MUCH harder. Thats what I think, and thats all your firepower means to me. I'm not turning this thread into a "How Deadshane plays his sisters army" thread. I think I can deal with high firepower list, you don't, until you beat my sisters in a GT, who cares? Nobody knows (or cares) who's right.

When don't you? lol

Who said we had to play in a GT?

I'm not sure how you are going to 'get' to me. Anyone asks me for first turn will get it. I don't mind, unless I'm playtesting then I usually play a game with and a game without first turn.

Let me think on first turn: 12 deploy+12 move+entangled+6 move+12 fire = out of range. If you think I'm worried about you close combat'ing me with sisters, uhhh you're the one should be worried....since you don't have seraphim.

Anyways, I don't necessarily think your army list is horrible, but if you really think a rhino rush army is workable in 4th AND you managed to get it to work...well, kudos. I think the army type is laughable at best. Don't take it personally, GW gutted that army when sales fell. I never had it, but I beat it easily when it was supposedly 'good'. Now that it's crap, I've never had a problem with one. In 5th edition though, it's making a comeback. Sort of. Gotta make those cover saves...

Second that. I recently brought my BA assault oriented army to a open table tournament and felt like I brought a pocket knife to a gunfight. (should have let a friend of mine take my spot with his shooty Tau in hindsight) Since everyone is fighting over lists lets seem some different list up so other Dakka members can see different takes on competitive builds.
