Its not really a big deal. 2 of your speeders could have had typhoon missiles instead of assault cannons. Against the orks, if you were playing 5th edition, that would have been at least equally effective. Against nids, different story, but in the context of 5th edition, killing genestealers could be an equally important role for speeders to play.
Green Blow Fly wrote:To answer your question I have been thinking about V edition a lot while at Adepticon this weekend and there are definitely some changes I would make to the list in light of that. Really any list now that was written for V edition and is currently being played in IV edition does not make much sense and I fault GW for the manner in which they release rules and army lists. To me Tyranids and Eldar were created between 4th and 5th edition while DA, BA, Chaos and Orks were purely designed for V edition. Also it sounds like the nerfing trend imposed by Jervis is finally over with now. I have always been of the mind that people less than brilliant pull down complex concepts and still cannot truly comprehend their intended content.
I must have gotten it in my head that those games you played were under 5th edition rules. The dark angels do "feel" nerfed while playing 4th edition games, and while comparing them to lists made from eldar and nid codexes. Just looking at it next to the loyalist marine dex hurts. But in less than 6 months, with a new, less customizable marine dex out, and this new rule set, will the dark angles be so bad? i'm sure they'll be perceived as such, but the gaming gestalt seems to be pretty slow and dim-witted. the perceptions of the collective are usually totally or partially wrong. i played that test game in 5th ed against a 5th ed power list. i didn't hate how it perfomred and if and when you revisit it for 5th, i don't think any drastic changes are in order.

I don't know who your talking to... They must not have been playing test games of 5th edition. You'll need shooting support, but solid 5th ed lists can be found in that pdf.

Not really, but it is good discussion. I get the feeling if making a 5th edition
DA list, you'd want to scrap it and start from the ground up. My experience with 5th makes me think that it isn't necessarily true, but I can do my own testing to see what i think will help it score, or kill or both.
