They also make a awesome laser dot sight for a bolt gun or some other manly weapon. I use on on my marines all the time. Or as a tracer round for bigger guns to shoot at.

*clicks fingers* so thats what they're for, targeting for their tanks. Wonder why they need so many for that?

You need several tanks of las guns to get a re roll. But they would be useful for painting targets with fire.

I've got it! Lasguns are a terror weapon. Think about it, laser dot sights are usually suck to really big and nasty guns, so they see all the guard firing laser dots at them they may think that they actually have alot more biggger guns and that if they take aim the lasgun (now believed by the enemy to be the marker for a large and nasty bolter or something) makes them run off before they get fired upon.

So if a whole army aims at you, thet means *Counts on fingers* a -100 ld test... anyone can pass that!

Your mighty army got a ld value over +100 ?
Or Hoping that a negative roll turns positive because you use a computer to add/substract and your
opponent misses what you type in ?

I think, anyone forced to this ld test will pass the border of the game-table with his army.

Of course in order to take a Ld test you must lose 25% of your men due to shooting. It may not work unless they be grots because the lasgun wounds them on 3+....

Good one... maybe if they had the backup of a baneblade. IG can't do over 4,000 damage before marines (who have a longer range) reach them.
Abnett exaggerates in his novels... sif a lasgun can take down a dreadnought. Orks I can understand, as they have crap-all armour.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

I did once read about a las gun blowing off a marines arm, i cant remember which novel however.... They are stupidly over powered in the novels.

MLC 96",TK,ap 2,heavy3,blast,macroweapon.

Hey you just revealed the greatest secret of all: The chaos gods will get shot down by
lasguns at their last day.

Lasguns give off light, which is the enemy of dark, dark is generally evil. So it could happen!

I just like the idea of the Guardsmen not wetting themselves and running away for long enough to actually shoot the Chaos Gods

Would be more powerful than a lasgun, so it'd be ok in the end

Guard didn't "run away",they regroup.

Yes but the Man in Black will not notice the squad run away behind him, he will still face the great enemy.
