Wow. So they changed it back then. In 4th edition Holy Hatred gave you preferred enemy. Looks like it's back to as printed then. Meh. Still pretty good.

Sure they do. Celestians still have it.

The new Witch Hunters FAQ doesn't say anything about celestians having preferred enemy, so I think Holy Hatred is now played as written in the codex. Celestians still hit on 3+, whereas models with preferred enemy now roll to-hit using their WS but are allowed rerolls.

Well, they won last year. 3 monoliths can be pretty tough.

I'd like to go but the first round is the weekend before my wedding.

Last year and last edition.

In this edition the Monoliths got better. As for the rest of the army... not so much...

Some are glass as glass half-full type of person.

Some are a glass half-empty.

I'm a glass half broken and shoved into someones face kinda guy...

The monoliths might be better, but the troops got much worse. Much worse.

Its armies that scale will do better. Orks don't scale so much. 180 boys is still only 1080 points. Your only now left with FA and elites to get more. I'll bet most ork armies top out at around 250-275 models. How many pie plates can other people bring for the same points?

I predict eldar. High points really helps bringing those expensive transports. I expect Tau to do poorly as they do not scale well at all past 1850 - 2000.

I also agree with the others who are choosing cheesed out Chaos.

Oh I don't know about that, man.

Orks scale very well (Nob Bikers are very expensive and very good). One unit of them is right up there with a Jetbike Council as far as scary effectiveness.

Chaos isn't scary really. My definition of cheesed out Chaos is probably different than everyone elses. 80+ Plague Marines is the only thing I fear in a Chaos army build at 2500 points.

Tau scale well. You bring a bunch of mech, and don't run the standard double tap units. Or you run a bunch of suits.

Here's a link with some examples of Tau scaling.
