Wow. The ant hill has been officially knocked over.

On the one hand, if I were coming in blind I'd be pretty irritated about a deviation from the published packet. However, I would have the option to play, and probably would play. People wanna get bent, they'll find something to get bent on.

As far as fitting 2500 into one force org, I'd have to agree that it can be done with pretty much every list that I can think of. Nothing out there is so cheap that it over flows a force org at that level. I believe that the FOC was designed with about 3000 points in mind. You can prob. stuff 4000 points of most armies into one (playability be damned) FOC, but after 3000 they want you to go to Apoc anyway.

As a former tournament organizer, you shouldn't expect anything in the form of a discrepancy from the posted rules. People are planning their armies around them, to alter them just for ONE list is ridiculous.

Last year's Hard Boyz, they house-ruled the 2nd mission so that your troops could only come in on your board sides, not any board side...Probably cost me getting to the Semi's (I tied for 3rd, but had more points against).

The different rules for different stores will be around as long as there are tournaments.

Expecting a tournament to follow its posted rules is taking things far too literally? I still don't understand your reasoning. It's not exactly hard for organizers to follow the rules they've agreed to use nor is it unreasonable for anyone to expect them to do so.

Edited by Jfraz a second time. In the interests of these tournament rules I will reopen the thread.

According to the owner, some people were having problems fitting 2500 points into 1 FOC. Now, evidently there was a group of us there on Thursday night that were all out of the loop, because when we all heard that about 5 games stopped and you could have heard a pin drop. Then the question bombardment began. I dunno if this is "legit", nor do I care. I'll be off in a far foriegn land come time for the next round, so I'm just oging to frogstomp what I can. It'll be a gas. I will prob. change armies since 2500 fit into a BA FOC really easy with plenty left over, and I think there is more abusable stuff using 2 FOC. And Hardboyz is all about abuse, but with a smiley. Anyway, I've known this owner for about 10 years, and he's a really fair minded guy. He's doing what he thinks is best for his store and players.

Extrenm(54), if I were you I would prepare a 2 FOC list for Sept 13, and if you think you will be heading to the next round then you should have plenty of time to figure out what you are going to do from there. I suspect you will be going to 1 FOC if you go to next round.

As an FYI, the 'Ard Boyz tournament is meant to be run with 1 (one) Force Organization Chart.

Not two.

The tournament organizer promoting two force org charts is doing the participants a disservice, especially if he unwittingly sets the players up with the false expectations that going into round two they could also use 2 force org charts.
