erm.........

i want one!

That's looking great! The shin armour seems a bit 'square'. I'd add a small inward angle piece similar to the outside leg but a lot thinner personally. It may balance it out. The Epic one is a great model but becuase of the size difference I think you may need a few extra bit's of armour here and there to get it looking spot on. Same princiapal as needing far more detail on a large model than a small one. That's part of the reason the plastics are made as three ups, so it's easier to sculpt and then shrink them. You're going the other way. Will be watching, at the moment it promises to be one of the best warlords I've ever seen, and to the scale that I'd like to see myself to boot! It's good to see 5' detailed ones but like was said earlier, they are impracticale and look a bit out of place in a game where other titans from FW?armoucast are in use.

Keep up the good work!

I've already PMed Augustus for photocopies of the schematics. I'll clean them up and convert them into PDF to get them out to people easier.

Allright, I built the carapce, I intentionally left out the blocks that will form the turbo lasers as I am going to build 2 different weapon options for the turbo lasers and missile launchers.

BTW the bolts are for mounting the arms and the torso to the waist, the bolts are very strong so the eventualt titan will be liftable by the top half or even the arm probably. Though I am planning to build a base.

The way I achieve this sometimes is to drill a big hole then set a nut in the cavity and fill the space with plummers steel, a 2 part resin clay that hardens like concrete! Its a great connection technique!

You can see this technique in the beginings of the arms I have here, the bolts in these upper arms will go through the outside mounts in the carapace shown above!

We can bypass the photocopy part since I'm a IRL friend.

ConditionOfMan wrote:On 2008/09/04 00:20:22 I've got a scanner and Adobe Acrobat. We could just scan it and print it to PDF.

Also, I should be finished with the display board this weekend. I think I'll do a thread about it.

Still looking good, I do have a question however....

What does this thing weigh???

Will a 4x6 board on sawhorses hold it or is it going to treat the board like a piece of wet toilet paper??

Its not so bad yet, couldn't be 20lbs yet, definitely less. I dont have a scale.

???

...besides,

Gamers generally NEED MORE EXCERCISE!

Maybe I will call it the patented weight loss titan? Just play 1 apocalypse game a day and you are gauranteed to reach your target weight with my new patented weight loss titan, LOOSE WEIGHT DOING YOUR FAVORITE THING! GAMING!

Might be on to something!

?

Wow... that is fantastic. The sheer size and bulk come through very nicely I think. Partially because I have end tables that are less impressively built!

Very nice. My lead assembler has put together a number of titans and warhounds in his day and thinks your approach is well thought out. We'll both be watching to see how it goes and good luck!
