I think the plan is for a couple of chit chat nights (with what ever tipple takes your fancy) to sort out the details, prove peoples willingness to attend and try and build a regular games night.

on the 27th me and arbitorIan met up with a friend of mine JB.
I tired to convince Ian and JB to play LOTR, we flicked through the legions book and discussed the games strengths, saddly I didn't convice either to join... Ian says unless he can paint pink space hobbits he's not interested... We had a pint, when Ian left to go dancing or something in shorditch, JB and I played MTG for a couple of hours and met a random fella who plays magic in Lewisham...

Should it get going!? Things Id like to offer/discuss with the Meet/Group/Club:

40k pick up games and maybe a escalation league (these prove great motivators to get people painting)

BloodBowl quick to get started in you only need 16models MAX.

Necromunda/ maybe =][=muda also a easy game to buy into.

LOTR the rules for this game seem awesome its like a 40k/BloodBowl cross over.

Alot of this can be thrashed out online, but meeting in person will establish who's actually interested in meeting up once a month!? or WhatEver....
My intention is to get playing more games!

I'm in north east london, so lewisham isn't that near for me, but I think I would be up for a meet with "normal" folk if I can spare the time.

Definitely up for getting a necro or ][=munda campaign going, got loads of scenery for it already, and me and some mates were doing a necro campaign as of about 2 months ago, so got all the minis/rulebook/pdfs etc already

Blood bowl would be good, got an Orc team I can dig up from the depths, as long as someone has the board etc.

LOTR really not very fussed about this, as it would require some monetary input, and some enthusiasm for the concept, which I am lacking in I'm afraid. I'm of the belief that GW need to support their specialist games, and drop LOTR for the dead weight it is, so I won't be in favour of LOTR I'm afraid.

I'd love to do some Necro - I've got a gang painted, and have some scenery about. I've not played blood bowl since the polystyrene pitch edition, but can easily be persuaded!

The snow in London means my year 11 parents evening has been put back to Tuesday 10th. As I am head of year 11, I can't really get out of it...

As a result, I rather oviously can't make it.

Hey guys, bumping this thread to see if this meeting led anywhere - I just got back into the game, and I'm looking for people to play my Blood Ravens against. I'm based in Camden (for now at least), but I'm central enough that getting across town wouldn't be a problem.

ArbitorIan, Fifty , ThunderChild and I met up and talked about 40k.
We all agreed to work on getting a few games together and take it from there...
Thunderchild is keen to play a few games of 40k and start a necromunda league.
we agreed that this probabily the best way to start a small gamer group, and take it from there.

Since then I've been a bit lax and settled back into a my regular pattern of just playing local friends...
We should make a few plans to get things moving...

There was a meeting between a couple of guys, I think, then four of us met up for beers in the Gypsy Moth. Not actually met any of them for a game yet, but hope to soon.

(Happily for me, in about 6 weeks, I go from working about 55-60 intensive hours per week to about 8 easy hours per week. Yay!)

Cool, well I'd be up for a few games. If the necromunda league happens as well, I was thinking of starting a gang for that as well - trying to decide between scavvies and escher.

If anyone's up for a necro game next week, me and jim are gonna have a match round mine on tuesday, so everyone's welcome. We may even have enough scenery to have 2 games at once, so I'll check that and let you know. If not I can try and get hold of some before then. If anyone's got any cityfight scenery lying around, that would be cool The more the better!
