Not only do marines kill spawn just fine, PFs work over MoN excellently, as does plasma. Indeed, everything S4+ kills spawn pretty good thanks to no AS. And S5 limits their utility against anything AV 11+. That's why people don't use spawn- they aren't very good. Two CSM are alot more useful 99% of the time. PMs are flat out better than spawn at about a 2:1 cost ratio. Sure, you only get 2 wounds at S4 v. 3 at S5, but you also get 2 bolters, a 3+/4+ save, controlled movement, etc. As to attacks, 2 PMs get 4 (6 on charge) whereas the Spawn will average 3.5 and max 6 on a good roll 1 on a bad. Oh, and PMs sport a higher WS.

Also, the point value isn't clear. How many points is this supposed to be? The base list is over 2500 and doesn't include an special weapons, PFists, etc.

Yes, lots of termis w/SS would eviscerate this list. But that's true of many lists. :-)

i think i could beat pedro kanto 2 demons princes wings lash slaanesh mark 3 squads of 10 termies combi-melta's 6 squads of 20 plague marines melta's and 3 squads of 10 slaanesh raptors with melta's.

also looking at this list i'd be happy to take the same points worth of guardian Deffenders goups of 10 + EML... they're naff but so what you'll never kill enough of them ... and for the win every second unit would take a Farseer with guide and doom and spirtstone

the marine codex is close to unbeatable,GW went to far they also might as well call it ultramines codex!

and spawn are amazing, i watched a spawn shrug of 10 lascannon shots and 15 heavy bolter shots for a landraider, sure it was in cover but still!

That's the problem with them, they have potential, but your opponant has more control over them than you do. They truly suck.

How do Spawn=Nurgle?

i dont know, but they do look pretty nurgley, but TBH nurge bikers aint even deathguard, so i dont know what typhus is on about.

I like Nurgle (mostly Fantasy now) and have sold off my Nurgle army (some guy in Japan now has a sweet Nurgle army with wo Golden Demon winners in it). All I have left are a Forgeworld Dread, my converted Oblits, and some FW Rhino doors. Someday I will come back and play DG, they're just too popular now for my tastes.

That being said, I still wouldn't use Spawn at ALL no matter what I played. I can deal with the high pts cost, I can deal with the lack of ANY save, I can even deal with the uncontrolability, just not all freakin three!

I bet you'll win. Your opponent will think " I hear spawn suck on the internet, 30 is a whole lot of suck". Then 30 spawn charge him to death while your other stuff is chilling getting shot at with cover saves.

I will once I scrounge up the $ for the remaining 16. I'd go so far as to say that raising money to buy 16 Chaos Spawn is a good and just cause. I may start a non-profit.
