That's what I had done but, instead of shielding the landraiders I had deployed in a corner of the board and only shielding the flanks of the vindies. Also what would i do if my vindie in front of my land rader is immobilized and my terminater unit can't get out?

Even if reserves leaves things to chance I wouldn't have a chance if I didn't.

Good question.
I'd deploy the four tanks at the board corner in a pattern like this (~: blank, TLOS):
~~~~~V
~~V~~R~R
The Landraiders (R) should be deployed slightly below the lefthand Vindicator (V).
The gap between the Vindicators should be large enough so that the Landraiders could move through them, and also small enough that a drop pod could not move inbetween the Vindicators. In this way, the dismounted squad should not get the melta double penetration bonus (more than 6'' away from the Landraider front side).
Interesting idea i'll have to try it but, I feel bad about sacrificing my vindicaters perhaps in this battle deploy all the marines and have their transports taking the place of the vindies. The diagram would look like this.
~RB~~R~~
V~~LR~~LR
Do you think that could work?
Yeah, this set up could work, too.
Its even better than mine as loosing the Razorback is not a big deal; its the most expendable tank in your list.
Yeah I agree.
I went down to my FLGS and I played a lash spam list and a tau list.
Game 1 I couldn't get an accurate read because the dice were just awful. Turn1 he immobilized a raider and blew up a vindie and turn 2 he blew up the raider that davanced despite smoke and the termies got out and failed their PIN test. I put up a fight but, was massacred anywy.
Game 2 I steam rolled a Tau guline. Honestly it wasn't even a match at the top of 4 he had half a fire warrior squad and I didn't lose a single unit although a few tanks were immobile. It was pitiful. But the player was terrible aswell and I don't even feel bad about saying it since he was a douche to.
So I guess in both games I got in inaccurate read about hoe my list would fair.
I can imagine this. The Chaos player obviously had some very good rolls.
I can imagine this, too. Only Hammerheads and Broadsides could stop approaching Landraiders.
I always try to take on units with markerlights so that hitting my tanks becomes more difficult.
I also played against a guard gunline and it wasn't a kill point game sadly... so it was a game. Turn 1 he knocked out 1 of my land raiders but, that's all and once I hit combat it was pretty much game over until I found that what I thought to be an INQ in a land raider eturned out to be grey knight terms in a land raider and he ran through my tactical squad with ease. Game ended with me having 1 more OBJ than him but, what does that mean abiiut grey knights? I hadn't even considered them as an army that could give me trouble.
A GK army can cause trouble to your army since it can be similarly configured, with some differences (Stormtroopers as troops, Inquisitor with LR).
