One way to solve the problem would be for both parties in a deal to send their goods/money to a trusted third party for checking before they are forwarded to the recipient. Of course this doubles all the administration costs and time.

Isn't that one aspect of what paypal is suppossed to be in the first place? A trust? Really, paypal doesn't fit the bill because it hardly qualifies as a disinterested third party.

The Problem here is that most people are missing the point of eBay.
eBay isn't primarily a online shop and your not making deals with eBay.

It's a yard sale website... your making deals with other people who want a clear out...
