Please reread what was posted as it does not say what you're implying.

We don't know for sure how many FA choices can be taken.

No, it' pretty clearly says the attacker has up to 6 non-mandatory Elites, which can normally be abbreviated to "0-6". If you think that I'm implying something else, please explain.

I'm saying that I think it'd be more obvious to have additional Fast choices when attacking. No where did I say that Fast was specified.

Perhaps you should reread my post?

No. You're the one who's misreading an example of upto six Elites choices as the only change to the Force Organization chart. So once again, where does it say how many Fast Attack choice can be taken? It does not. You're jumping to conclusions without any facts to back it up.

Ghaz = right again. According to the promo, Planetstrike attackers have up to 6 elites AND 6 fast attack.

Heh. I wonder if Planetstrike will in any way make SM Vanguard better...

I really like the look of the new Bastions, although the defendable wall sections look kinda weedy on their own. And I actually really like the landing pad. Looks pretty cool to me.

The way the Q&A went, the OP might as well have asked Phil about Sisters, Inquistion and GK for yet another cryptic Magic 8-ball answer: "future hazy, ask again".
I think the idea on Elites as opposed to fast, is the idea of crack infantry leading the way. Think like the Rangers, scaling the cliffs of Normandy, while other units were airdropped... those are all elites and now you can have enough elites to do both at the same time. I think you could make a justification for fast; maybe an army specific who gets what or the ability to choose 6 elite FOC or 6 FA FOC, might be better.

In fairness he's not suppose to talk about as much as he did. He could have given him the hard line and said "we can't speak beyond X months, I can only talk guard and planet strike"

Yeah, I guess I can kinda see that as the rationale. Or just allowing *both*, for those nutcases who have the models...

Yeah, I just thought it was funny that this was "news", aside from confirming that, yes, GW hasn't forgotten that there are some old Codices kicking around...

Did I say that 0-6 Elite was the only change? No. I noted that it was *a* change, not *the* (only) change. READ MORE CLEARLY!

Did I say anything about changes or anything about Fast choices? Again, no. My comment (in parentheses to separate it from the summary) was asking a question to Dakka about GW's decision to increase Elite vs Fast for discussion purposes (see the question mark that I used?), and most of the rest of the readership was smart enough to figure this out. So, again, READ MORE CAREFULLY.

Seriously, if you can't bother to read and comprehend, please don't reply.

Seems the news is breaking now...

Not long after Planetsrike we should be seeing the Planetary Empires stuff as well. 1 month later I believe.

The ever useful ( and charming !) Mr. Shadowphrakt had the following to say...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seen as I first forwarded these rumours about Planetary Empires from 2008, I felt it only necessary to bring the final date for them to light, and to inform you all.

With regard to Planetstrike being released in June (if the area manager for Scotland and one of the number crunchers are to be believed), the Planetary Empires expansion pack, which was seen at Conflict Scotland: 08, is finally due for release in July of this year- a month after Planet Strike I believe.

The box contents are similar to that of Mighty Empires, but obviously with new designs. It contains the same size tiles, but with ones for cities, add ons for hive cities and the like.

It is designed for being used to map out campaigns, and is just a very nice thing to have as a GW enthusiast.

The boxset, along with all new tiles and new things to put in tiles (), the boxset contains the new Planetary Empires rulebook - what was seen at Conflict Scotland: 08. All the changes needed - such as taking out the Baneblade artwork in the workshop - have been made.

I hope you're all as excited about this release, and about the release of Planet Strike, as I am. It'll add real flavour and organisation to any Basement Gamers Clubs/Clubs campaigns.

Maybe there will be rules in PlanetStrike which make Fast Attack choices more interesting. I mean GW wants to sell stuff, right? My guess is, FA units become scoring or something like that.

Love that people always have to assume that any rumor MUST be true. Warseer mentions a price increase, Dakka decides that 25% is a good number.

Two Scenarios:

1) The price increase is 3% to 5%. Still an increase, bitching occurs, but at least they warned me.

2) The sky really is falling! OMG! 25% increase in all GW. - I rip the lungs out of my sales rep for giving me bad info. Bitching occurs, but I join the crowd and get my pitchfork and torch.

The price increase, if it happens, will be for online retailers without a brick and mortar shop.

So the warstore and others like him will still be ok, as will your local FLGS.

I have talked to a number of shop owners about it though, and none of them knew or had heard anything substantial to tell me, so who knows.

Yes, it is a campaign system for Warhammer Fantasy Battles and Warmaster if you tweak it a bit. You could also make it usable for WH40K but the new Planetary Empires should do that much better.

I'm wondering if they tie in BF Gothic with Planetary Empires and Planet Strike. That would be cool.

Hell of a warning, they didn't tell us what is going up, or how much. I'd also like to reiterate that 3 to 5% would be unprecedentedly low for GW. Typically, products go up an entire price band, meaning 10%+

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Thing is... $3-$5 increase on a $25-$30 item is not 3-5% .

Also, must you use that tone ? Only thing thats outrages here is the price increase. Oh heavens no im complaining about how often GW does this.

To go back to the leman russ varient weapon releases, The thing id like to see gw do rather than a sprue of weapons for the turrets, would be a set of varient turrets instead! That way you buy the basic tank kit with battle cannon, then the turret boxed set and build them, then for which ever fight your fighting and want to use a varient, just swap the turret for the game?

GW is trying to reduce the number of kits on their shelves, so seperate turret kits would be against their new policy of cramming more stuff into the same kit.
