But as others have reminded , its in wrong scale :x

I'm pretty sure in one of the gaunt books, (the one in whatever city that is flying through the clouds) the locals and pdf use some kind of helicopter related vehicle that is mentioned, maybe twice, without any kind of description.
Course I could be mistaken as it has been many years since I read it.
Sometimes I wonder why I remember things like this.
And regardless a slow-mover is a slow-mover, they tend to be a (and I paraphrase) 'heavier than air craft capable of stationary lift' and fulfill a variety of roles from fire support to scout to troop transport.
Does it really mattery if it's a jetvectorthrustturbohammerjuicebuster or a friggin 1/48th scale hind D, which at the price of 14.89 look a lot more wallet friendly than 3 $50+ valkyries.
I think I'm going to go order 3 of them now.

It's a pretty awesome model in and of itself, but it just isn't 40k enough; it looks too present-day-ish. Too sleek and smooth. If it were less smooth and the turret was smaller, it'd probably work really well, although all in all I still like the concept of the GW valkyrie better.

... because that totally makes sense.

Well if it is to smooth and sleak for a Valkyrie, how about a Tau Human auxiliary vehicle? I think that would be a neat conversion.

Ohhh, sorry everyone, i was just thinmking in the realms of we dont rivet everything together anymore, our weapons are realisticly much more accurate, i reckon that in some parts they are ahead of us, but has anyone seen the american "future soldier project", or whatever it's called, its basicly a very rubbish space marine. so really i reckon theyre only 500 years technologically more advanced, not 10's of thousands.

they have air craft now that are just like the f-16 that can land and take of strait up!!!!!
also has any one red the imperial armor book?
the ports on the wings siphon exhaust from the engine to lift off.
The valk doesn't have have vectored engines. If you don't know why look at the model.
And those pathetic little things on the wing tips could NOT lift something as massive as the valk. I've always thought thte valk should be more like a v-22 Osprey, but with jet engines instead of turboprops.
Meta.
It's not like there aren't giant walking robot war machines or tanks the completely defy gravity. Those little engines are just way too far fetched though. Oh and the aliens, we can't forget the ALIENS.
I personally want to try a 1/35 UH-60 as Valk conversion, I'll do my best to make it look 40K. I just really like the look of helicopters more than the kinda jet thing they have going.

Has any of you seen the harrier, it can be supported by 2 minute jets of air, i mean seriosly there jets are tiny in comparison to the valks, it was the original vertical takeoff aircraft, and it works, so im sure the engines on the valk will as well.

I've always thought thte valk should be more like a v-22 Osprey, but with jet engines instead of turboprops. Meta. The wingtips of the valk could easily keep it airborne, it's all entirely dependant on how powerful they are. Given that this all occurs 39 thousand years in the future I'm betting they have some pretty powerful engines. Though honestly it couldn't really maneuver or fly very well without immense drag. None of the imperial aircraft are particularly realistic. I like the design, if it's in a themed army with other similar designs then I think it could be great. However it doesn't look like it could carry any troops, and thats an issue.

A 1/35th might be a tad large for gameplay, a 1/48th scale takes up a whole lot of table space on it's own with it's considerable length. That said, Valkyries are huge and probably 1-3x as expensive depending on retailer.
I bought a 1/48th a couple years back for a 'why not' conversion, observations as follows:
The 1/48 fuselage is roughly 1 chimera wide and two long
Flimsy rotors, wheels, and exterior details will make it poor for the amount of handling involved in gameplay/transport.
The interior was really really small compared to a cadian/catachan.
IG weapons are hideous and gargantuan, and look even more hideous and gargantuan on them.
End Result: Project Aborted due to failure to meet acceptable aesthetic standards.
Prepare to do some heavy converting and fortifying if you want to table-top one.
