Good point, I run Vulkan so the Mastercrafted thunderhammers benefit.

Does 24' hover movement mean anything to you?
To kill them you need to direct them (to some extent) towards your fire. That is really difficult as eldar are rarely outmanuvered.

Get one, two or three 113pt. Elite Dakka-Fexes within 18" of them and they will feel the pain!

6x S6 shots, re-roll misses, re-roll failed wounds from EACH Dakka-Fex makes most things on the field cry.

Hive Tyrants & Warriors, although more expensive, can also have these beastly little weapons and pump out tons of re-roll everything, S4+ shots from 18".

You got 4+ invulnerable saves? ok, roll them... a LOT of them.

Yeah, tarpitting a Council sucks- I guess they fear that, as the rest of their force is likely to be under-manned (under-elfed?) for CC. I've mostly run foot Councils, so it's happened to me repeatedly- more in 4th than 5th.

Units fast enough to tarpit even a bike Council for a turn include Gargoyles (two units, Synapse nearby), Death Company assault marines, and multiple Orky units (latch on 3 transported or Stormboyz units and at least one will make their roll to stick around long enough for more units to pile in).

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Maybe ive got the math wrong - but after rolling to-hit & to-wound & then the subsequent saves.. each carnifex causes about 0.7 wounds to the squad.

reading all that has spiked my interest in these guys i usually have 3 wraithlords avatar squad of wraithguard and a ton of direavengers with a farseer chillin so that might work out well to have that squad rage facing across the map

They get exponentially better the more you can afford. A lot of the above examples give small councils problems, but the full 11-12 bod bike council is very difficult to stop.

My two competative armies are tau (ha) and tyranids.

My Tyranids rely on a combination of gaunt assault screens, a big choppy flyrant for the farseer and a Ld choir to give the council pause.

My Tau just get lubed up, assume the position and take it.

Funny about the Tau. That sounds a lot like my Orks vs. multiple Land Raiders.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

I think the big councils are the problem in itself - the size & point-cost of such a squad. Im estimating 680pts on a full jetbike squad, equipped moderately with powers & a kitted out farseer.
