Here are some better pictures with a bit of posing to get the essence of the pose across. We shall see how the blue wash ends up on the dried glue. So far I think it is soaking up a bit of the wash. I may dip the model in a diluted mix of some cheap inks to get some base tones soaked in before I make too many decisions about the final paint scheme.

I have begun to reinforce the hand with coated paperclips. I need to figure out the mechanical aspects of the magnet connections. I need to sculpt both arms, shoulders, and each head individually or I will be forced to cut the model up to make it adjustable. I am aiming for a minimum of 2 options for each piece, all of which fit in with the model in at least 3 different positions. For now I will make right giant arm, one "tape-worm" head, one left shoulder with armor, one demonic blade, and one demonic cannon. As soon as my green stuff arrives I can begin sculpting the details and forming the skin.

My base will be extended to fit into whatever role (and specific GW game) this monster takes part in. I know it looks a lot smaller than some of you may have originally envisioned; this is just to make sure the model doesn't end up as a paperweight. The "air-drying" clay seems to do particularly well at making light weight (actually pretty heavy, but lighter than milliput I would think) bases and terrain. At under 1$ per pound you can make as many bases and pieces of terrain that a full month would allow. Decorate your tables mainly with it, and DO NOT use this material with anything besides itself while it's drying. It shrinks quite a bit (the opposite of milliput) when drying and because of this lends itself to being watered down, in order to achieve an even mix w/o any air pockets. Take some time to look up techniques in sculpting clay. I believe their are quite a few related videos on you-tube that can show you at least the basic techniques. A lot of these techniques are universally used for all sculpting materials in some way.

I have come up with the idea of making this monster some kind of harvester of body parts. The claws on the big right arm will be giant syringes pumping fluid through the wire I have used to reinforce the hand. The sword/ gun arm will have a surgical nature to it, and the guts will be infested with tiny demonic robots and random weapons attached to spindly mechanical arms that have forced their way out of the torso. The "skin" will take the form of a patchwork skin cloak that is hooked into the exposed muscle and bone. Somewhere along the line I may convert a space marine or something so it displays the patchwork skin-cloak actually being created. Of course the space marine will still be fighting as he is pulled apart methodically. The head should work very well in this concept so I will probably keep that as it is. If I feel like getting fancy I will make the rest of the base a rip in the warp and have plague bearers crawling out along with all sorts of other madness. I will have the rip be placed like a mirror would so the monster looks like its emerging from thin air.

Keep the comments coming.

Wow. Just wow.

Yah, I vote for a connection with Nurgle. Or better, why not say it IS Nurgle? How much is a Nurgle model, anyway? Probably a couple'a hundred dollars. When done, you could slather basing material (you know, that fake shrub stuff) all over it, like in the armpit area, on the back, etc. I saw this done in a WD for Nurgle and it sure looked appropriately disgusting to me!

"I.. I know my time has come" Tethesis said with a gasp, a torrent of blood flowing from his lips.
"No! Hang on brother!!" Altharius could feel the warmth slip away from his dear sibling's hands

Tethesis's reached out his bloodied arm to Altharius's face.
"I..I have one final request"
Altharius leaned close to listen, tears welling in his once bright eyes.
"make sure th..they put my soulstone in a tank... it'll be... real fethin' cool"
"Yes, you're gonna be the most fethin' cool tank!!" burning hot tears streaked down Altharius's face, as he held his brother's soul in his grasp.

Dont think its meant to be tyranidy . . .

Im really enjoying all these WiP pictures youve got up. Bit of a shame about the clay cracking up, maybe just needs layering . . . or a mass GS hiest
I know its abit pessimistic of me but I predict a falling off head unless the structure is really solid, but we'll see how it goes

All these shots make me miss my nurgles but they have been sold on to fuel my waaaagh, so ill stick to my scratch built squig when I get back from my festival this weekend

I have worked with clay, doing sculpture, on many many many occasions. From my experience I would be very, very worried about using it for this purpose and I wish you the best of luck here.

OK - I'm using my imagination - so it's going to be a daemon with boobs like Angelina Jolie?

Structure is looking good.

I'll check. One moment...

5 inches to the top of the torso, 9 inches to the top fingertip.

4 inches wide at the base, 10 inches from head to pinky.\

Yes, yes indeed

Minor update. Here is a picture showing (roughly) what the other arm will look like.

I would appreciate any advice on making a weapon arm. Sheet styrene (plasticard) is my first thought, but I could scrape something more organic out of some extra sprues, wire mesh, hot-glue and green stuff. I want to get some of the brown stuff so I can file some hard edges into the weapons and armor. I have seen numerous attempts at doing this with green stuff... it simply does not work. The teeth will be individually sculpted so they have a lamprey quality to them... ooooh those things are so kool. I have 3 containers of green stuff arriving next week, so I can't do any serious sculpting until they get here.

Constructive criticism is welcome, don't be shy.

I have to say it is looking more up the nurgle avenue, but everything can change with the stroke of a brush.

Keep up the good work!
Please tell me if you plan to use it in a game! What would it count as? A greater deamon?

I plan to use this on table-top for WH40k whenever an opponent lets me, for whatever reason really. But, yes "fluff-wise" I plan to make it some sort of Nurgle affiliated greater demon. The Devouring One... Hey, that sounds pretty good.

Ok, here we go I added some pics of the gun arm pose. Just imagine some demonic dakka.
