I'm amazed that no-one has said it, even though it isn't on my list but... Chaos Dreadnought.

1.An advisors box set for IG, like plastic commissars, psykers, priests etc, with loads of customisation capabilities.
Would come with the pieces for: 5 commissars, 3 priests and 2 psykers.

3. Plastic assassin boxed set, where you can make one of each temple. would come with enough pieces for four.

Only because i'm put off from buying these units I really want because of the cost of the models £53 for 20 Sword Masters, surely you can do 10 in plastic cheaper GW.

Yeah the greatswords are awesome models, the amount of variation you can get puts them way ahead of the older metal ones =]

Owning the (now-)OOP Greatswords, it's completley ridiculous how much GW is charging for the plastics. $41+ for 10 plastic Greatswords? Crazy.

Cheaper than buying 10 metal ones, and you get better quality models, better variation from one soldier to the next, and everyone's squad is different . . . So you're getting something better for less money than the original . . .

10 for $25 would be more reasonable.

Yeah but GW have already been bitten by that one, when they brought out the new Chaos Knights, they went with making them a lot cheaper than the original ones, but due to lack of demand they have currently made a massive loss on them. So it's probably just GW learning from their mistakes . . .

What's wrong with the new Chaos Knights? I like the model.

Yeah, a mistake to price things reasonably...

Empire Cav, HE Cav, WE Cav were were all $10/model before moving to regiment boxes of 8/$35. They seemed to do just fine. Now, suddenly, plastic Chaos Cav doesn't work? Right.

Do you have any figures to back up the claim that GW lost money on Chaos Knights?

No I don't, but it's a point GW have used, and also the 3 shops I regularly go to haven't had to restock them since release . . . that is shocking.

I didn't say the Chaos Knights were bad models, infact they're awesome models, it's just that they were under priced (or expected to sell more than they did), and this massively effected the money made on them.

I'd like to see the following 3 box sets:

Plastic Chaos Dwarf Warriors - I really love the Assyrian look of the old Chaos Dwarves. I much perfer them over the Hellcannon dwarves and I think the style can definitely be salvaged and modernized.

Plastic Bull Centaurs - I love these guys too. Bull Centaurs and Dwarf Warriors w/ handweapon or blunderbuss options. Chaos Dwarves... here I come!

Plastic Dragon Ogres - The old dragon ogres are showing their age. These need to be remade. Badly. I think giving them bodies like the fat cold ones would be good, though with more scale detail, with a heavily armored body and closed helms. The snaggletoothed heads on the old ones doesn't convey the menace that they should command.

You guys can heap scorn on me now for suggesting terrible box sets! At least I didn't put Plastic LAMASSU! HURR!

Assuming that GW -is- losing money on the Chaos Knights in the first place, there can only be two possible reasons: GW miscalculated in the popularity of Chaos Knights and produced a kit nobody wants. In this case, setting the price higher isn't going to fix it the issue if people weren't buying it when it was cheap. On the other hand, if GW priced the kit below the price to produce/package/ship (which is highly improbable after taking into account similarly priced regiments), and were losing money on the sale of said product - setting the price higher would be the proper course of action.

As neither of those scenarios seems to -actually- be the case - the most likely outcome is that GW was NOT losing money on the Chaos Knights. If they are not losing money, they must be at least breaking even, or making money on the Chaos Knights. Ergo, the most likely answer is the price increase was instituted to increase their profit margin. Also, generalizations such as what is occuring in stores you frequent can't be taken as an accurate representation of what is happening in the hobby as a whole as it only represents a small portion of GW's clientelle. In the last three cities I have lived in, Fantasy was not very popular, but this is clearly not the case across all GW's customer base.

I was using the 3 stores I go to as an example, I have talked to many people in GW about this, and how Chaos Knights worked out made them more cautious. But obviously I'm just going on what I've been told, which ofcourse be a load of rubbish, seeing as anyone below manager is treated only just above customers in the eyes of management.

b. Aspect warrior upgrade packs like assault upgrade for 10 or maximum squad size - whichever is less. Priced above.
