Rock People...lol...but they should introduce a race where you only have to buy...say 3 or 4 minis for a 1.5k game...that'd be rad!

...nothing else matters...

NO we don't need another race/group for GW to neglect.

We were masters of the stars once and we shall be again

Though the thought of a brand new race is extremely intriguing; I'm sure it will fit right into an already established generic science fiction type. Like Nid are Aliens, Tau are Anime, Eldar are Elves, etc etc.

I think they should spend their resources improving and updating what we already have. Don't even bring something new to the table until everything on the table is freshened up.

The only downside is that every Rock person will cost the same as a Baneblade.

Regardless how cool the possiblitlities are, there is not going to be anohter race (apart from mabye a variant) released for GW.

HI all.
I would like to point out other companies that are GAMES focused have sort of solved this problem .
They have Force Compostion lists and Point Value allocation methods that work.
So you pick your models build your army cost it and play 'ballanced' games!
(Better balanced than GW efforts anyway.)

Or they focus on narrative driven tactical game play that doesnt even use PV.

But GW are a minatures company, seeking short term profit from selling products.
So long term development is not part of thier make up , niether is missing an opportinity to market thier latest releases.

I think they cannot keep up with what they have currently so why introduce more?

Oh?

Are those FC lists as broad and varied as what we have in 40k?

Have those PV methods been broadly tested for competitive play like 40k has?

Or do they just give the illusion of balance because nobody has made the same sort of very serious effort to break the system?

They should rework some current army's first. Dark eldar for example.

imperial guard
witch hunters
spacemarines

If they're going to rework current armies, they should start with armies that have actual rules problems (i.e SW, Necrons, WH, DH), rather than armies that were effectively discontinued more than 5 years ago (i.e. DE).

GW need to get their crap together. Why update the army codexes BEFORE you come out with a 5th edition of 40K? Coming out with a new race will cost them more money because they have to make new models. They should just have a "build your own race" codex sort of based on the system they have for creating characters for dark hersey.
