The room that I paint in doesn't have windows so I can fully control the lighting. When painting I generally use an articulated lamp with a single 100 watt bulb. I can move it to any angle to minimize shadows and the single source almost completely eliminates light pollution.

Same thing I use, oddly enough! Before, I used to paint at midnight with no lights on, and my paint jobs still looked good(ish) Just couldn't do washes very effectively.

Actualy mine is now a daylight high powerd spot lamp - its one of thw basking lights i use for my lizards  , nd when i takee photos i have a white sheet of A3 paper i place on my snakes vivarium and take the picture using the snakes UVB powerful light to give me a nice photo

I use a high power light that's attached to one of those magnifiers on a boom stand, I also have a small lower power lamp that I occasionally use as well to add a little extra light from another direction

I was using sunlight, nothing beats it. But now I have a desk lamp with a magnifying lens and 90 (yup, 90) led lights in it. It's solid.
