5) The Elder scrolls Morrowind-Come on. You know you love it. 4) Lord of the rings BFME 2-It may not be the best game ever produced, but for a quick fantasy rts fix, this is hard to beat in my eyes. 3) Star wars KOTOR/ The monster hunter game serie (Tie result)-KOTOR is one of the best Star wars game ever. Period. Monster hunter is more a niche thing-I continuesly get my ass kicked, but I love it every time. 2) Star wars Battlefront 2-The game that got me into FPS', and really opened my eyes to the power of games. 1) Rome: total war-Sheer brilliance. Honurable mentions-All the Rome: Total war expansions, The original star wars battlefront, Warhammer MoC, Halo 3 ODST, Star wars Empire at war: Forces of corruption, LOTR BFME 2: Rise of the Witch-King. Edited because I failed

for me, i cannot possibly narrow down to 5 games, so for those that fit the bill, will encompass the entire series of games:
1. Metal Gear Solid (the whole series was just too well put together)
2. Killzone (if you havent played it, just play)
3. Command and Conquer series, Though this one has tailed off in recent years, RA3 wasnt up to snuff, imo.
4. Tekken/Soul Calibur.. largely the same games, but great fun and imho the best fighting franchise games out there.
5. Call of Duty franchise. Considering what it was up against when the first one came out (the juggernaut of WW2 shooters, Medal of Honor), to have survived into the next generation platforms and be so highly anticipated (modern warfare 2) speaks volumes to what that crew has done for the real war shooter genre.

Some old ones in here. Carmaggedon 2 (the proper PC version, not the naff console version where they replaced the pedestrians with zombies with green blood). Starlancer. Discworld II: Missing Presumed...!? (by the way, if anyone knows where/how to get a working version of this game on the current Windows I'd be insanely happy). Lands of Lore: The Throne of Chaos. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (which I fully predict will be replaced by Modern Warfare 2 in three days ).

I think I read somewhere that it works with the SCUMM Emulator. Edit: It does.

In a Society in which there is no law, and in theory no compulsion, the only arbiter of behaviour is public opinion. But public opinion, because of the tremendous urge to conformity in gregarious animals, is less tolerant than any system of law. When human beings are governed by "thou shalt not", the individual can practise a certain amount of eccentricity: when they are supposedly governed by "love" or "reason", he is under continuous pressure to make him behave and think in exactly the same way as everyone else.
George Orwell is my hero.

Interesting to see S.T.A.L.K.E.R. up there. Its an excellent game, but I always felt that it was held back by difficulty, technical issues and some very long walks. It remains in a class all its own though.
I used to make fun of my fallout loving friend by telling him I was playing Fallout 3 whenever I fired up Chernobyl. He didn't appreciate it, F3 not having been released yet..
