Totally worth to watch ^^.
Maybe one could make a CSM using an IG soldier as meat shield for his own plasgun.

My main reason: melta guns are assault as opposed to rapid fire. I like to whittle down mob troops before assaulting them with blood claws. Melta guns give me an edge, to be able to shoot it and then assault right then and there.

I run a marine biker army. Problem fixxed!
I close with 2 squads, 2 plasma guns each. Shoot 8 shots on MEQ not in cover, assault the remaining models.

Cover saves are more abundanent, making plasma guns less effective. Plasma guns have also gone up in cost, and Nidzilla is far less common.
More targets plus less competition for the same jobs = more melta guns.
Less effective plus costlier plus finally facing realistic competition for the slot = fewer plasma.
Every response to this thread other than this one is basically superfluous.

Yeah, I wouldn't argue against taking any plasma at all, I just know that in my IG I went from fielding up to 10 plasma guns and maybe 9 melta guns to mostly melta guns and the Executioner. I should always point out that in my meta-game I nearly only ever play MEQs.
