Wyches aren't that great against marines, but most of the time they'll come out on top. Incubi are so incredibly good at killing marines that they're almost considered overkill.

And every DE playa loses the first couple games before they start understanding where to put what, and since DE is about the fastest army in the game, DE get to choose when and where all the fighting takes place.

You can't spell 'slaughter' without 'laughter'.
By the time they scream... It's too late.

Wyches vs Terminators and Genestealers and other elite CC troops.

"Oh, did you pay a lot for that power weapon? Sorry, invulnerable!"
"Bet you thought you'd get an extra attack there huh... nope"
(best case) "Wow, TWO power fists! You go last, I still get a save, AND you overpaid for no extra benefit.

Incubi vs regular power armor troops.

(Incubi don't talk)

(Marines)
"hurk!"

I play against IG alot..................

Should not be a big problem to take on IG.
If you get first turn, then approach the enemy along a flank
while the Sniper squads (10 Warriors with 2 darklances) give cover fire
to silence guns.
Next turn charge with whatever is left.
I never got defeated by Tau or IG.

Nice! Has anyone ever faced down 3 land raiders, 30 terminators, 2 predators, 3 rhino mounted squads and a whirlwind? T'was depressing :(

Any army needs "luck".
As for IG, yes a chimera totally better than a raider point for point... against a raider. A chimera cant hurt a predator... or higher (with stock weaponry) They fulfill different roles in the list.

As for HQ selection... I prefer the dracon, cheap. effective and with a shadowfield, no one cares for the 2 wounds...

25 points for +1 WS/BS/A. Just a matter of choice.

I generally only take an Archon at 2000 points.

Normally I do a Dracon with Drazhar and 4 Incubi. More than enough pain for most people:

with +1 A and reroll misses on Dracon, I get 2.22 wounds
Drazhar causes 2.67
4 incubi cause 1 each.

Nearly 9 Marines die before they even get to strike.

Some think Drazhar isn't worth it. For equal points in Incubi, you kill over 1 marine more... but Drazhar looks awesome, has more than 1 wound, and can switch places with the Lord, if you need to.

How many points is this?

DE can be competitively played up to 2000 pts.
Then you filled all HQ, elite, troop, and HS slots.
Above that limit, DE is struggling unless you can use another FOC.

Chicago

I've seen great success with two army builds - Regular mounted DE and Wyche Mounted.

1 'Regular mount'

Troops 6 x 5 warriors w/ DL and Blaster mounted in Raider w/ DL
3 ravaagers w/ dissies
2 wyches, mid strength w/ agonizers, 2 blasters, mounted in Raider w/ DL
Either 2 Homculi w/ Siccors, destructor attached to Wychs OR Dracite.
Keep in mind, this was a 1500 point army. No joke, this army can dust with shooting.

2 'Wyche mounted'
Lelith with 5-gal retinue, 2 blasters, Plasmas, Succubus with 'Niser in a Raider
Dracite with the works (attach above)

3 X 5 raiders with Blaster/DL in a Raider with DL/Horrofex

2 X 5 wyches with weapons, double blaster in a Raider with DL

4 X 5 wyches with weapons, double blaster in a Raider with Dis

3 X Ravager with 3 Dis

1850, has a responsive H-t-H punch. In total, 6 Mounted DL's , 3 DL on foot. 17 Blasters and 13 Dissies. The idea is you bust the AV with blaster or DL, then burn them with cross firing Dissies... 13 plasma cannons does make for a fun shooting phase... for you...

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Not so useful units are Hellions.
But I usually field one smaller unit with a blaster to fill gaps in my combat line.
Just for fun.

All my friends play either some type of Chaos Marine or Black Templars or something. Biggest trouble is that ten point upgrade BT has for their land raiders that negates the dark lance av 12 rule.

Kinda ticks me off that mandrakes and hellions can only be useful in the strangest and luckiest of circumstances (give em plus one attack or something pluz). Everytime Ive used The Decapitator, he's killed two or three marines then gets prawned. Sticking with Incubi, Wyches, and plenty o dark lances is probably your best bet. Its a good thing Incubi look cool, too haha (Drazhar is freakin badass)

Nelson- 10 point upgrade? are you kidding? Check their lists because it is a 30 point upgrade!!! makes the crusader almost 300pts!

Drazhar is awesome. Single handidely took out a whole striking scorpions unit, then a guardian squad, then some warpspiders... all by him self!

Ah, well, I should have guessed that. Thankfully, haven't played any games yet with this new guy, he was probably just exaggerating the strengths of his army out of excitement.

Oh, for CC weapons that wound on a fixed roll (Agonizers and Poison Blades), I think there's a rule that if your model's Str is equal or greater than your opponents toughness, you get to reroll failed wounds. I don't have a 5th edition rule book meself, could someone confirm or deny this?

Actually, to the combined assaults, I recently rocked my friends chaos army. Mostly though, it was out of luck, as I managed to wipe out 2 20 man chaos marine squads (undivided) with an archon and nine wyches in 3 turns of CC. The Wych succubi and the Archon managed to kill enough CSM each time to get em to fall back (Good luck outrunning the I 6 wyches haha). Don't really remember why I didn't have incubi that time, but typically wiping out marine squads is their forte, not wyches.

Most reliable way of killing marines is just lancing the hell out of em. "Lol, good luck with spl rifles against my t5, feel no pain plague marines"... 11 blasters/dark lances later: pile of green go where the plague marines were. Honestly though, it makes me sad to not really care about taking slaves anymore :-/ Tired of vaporizing ma prey

That is what I call luck!

Incubi have a drawback to be considered, they can't FoF.
This is the reason why I never took them to an RTT.

I'd love to see a new DE codex that puts some of your vehicles in squads like in the IG codex, cause that would mean 9 talos's snip snip hehehhehehheehe

Talos is more like a Wraithlord than a vehicle. Though a squad of 3 Taloi would be kinda cook.
