Rumors threads and the rumors sections of GW related forums are all but dead now thanks to the better security at GW regarding new products. There are a lot less news and rumors threads than ever these days and the ones that are there are full of wish lists and random speculation more than any real information.

By the time most things are news there never was a rumor far enough ahead of time to allow for the kind of banter one used to see on forums and the news has already been announced formally by GW so customers don't have to glean the information from forums.

No Alien Hunters makes me really disappointed.

Why make up such awesome fluff and then make some really fun, and seemingly "pre-view" armies, only for the best one to be sidelined.

I cant say I wasn't expecting it, but its still disappointing.

Gathering the Informations.

To be fair:

The Inquisition doesn't really...fit...in a total war sense.

Yeah, sure. They have armed forces. But they're more suited to skirmishes and surgical strikes. When crap hits the fan, they always call in the Guard and dragoon 'em into service.

I'd much, much rather see the Inquisition put in as HQ choices/non-mandatory Troop slots for Guard(only with an Inquisitor Lord in charge).

And hell. It'd be a gateway for Lost and the Damned too!

Just to point out here that the process of making plastic sprues takes 2 years, with the armybook/codex being written in the last 3-4 months (if 40k is the same as fantasy).

I freely admit I have not followed DE rumours, but once the process of making plastics is started I imagine they would not delay it any longer than they had to, to recoup costs asap. They probably wouldn't put them off indefinately with new plastics just sitting around.

Back on topic I see no mentions of anything to do with WHFB... Figures.

But most games in 40k are considered skirmishes. Its those kinds of battle you read about in the fluff and books they throw at you. The fluff that makes you want to go out and play that army. And they have always seemed to fit into Appoc games, leading a chapter of space marines and 2 companies of IG against a Chaos, Ork, and Tau force. This stuff writes its self.

I would love to see LatD come back. Those where some of the more entertaining games I played back in the day. (yay zombies!)

Oh there is plenty of fantasy stuff for next year, given the 40K & WFB armies I play it's going to get expensive for me.

Of course there is - GW should be releasing a new version of Fantasy, as the current version will be 4 years old and due for a refresh.

I heard that next summer is some sort of fantasy campaign. My guess is that Warhammer v8 (8, is that right? I've lost count.) will be next summer with The Hobbit (one of two) in the autumn/winter.

WHFB 8th Edition does seem quite likely in 2010.
