Welcome to the OT Forum, please (try) to enjoy your stay.

A group modified an anti-Nazism logo and then tried to use a "Nazi" style "book" burning as a protest event. The event had no supporters that were not members of the group show up, even the media tried to help them make it out to be more but couldn't. The Youtube video of the camera man trying to get the kid to throw the cases "just right" was priceless (and sad).

I fail to see why this failed!

I wonder if someone still got to get the promised free signed Sports Jersey to one random tosser.

OT Note: I once had to take English and History in Summer School to "make up" for the grades I received in the regular school year. The classes were sooooooo easy, I got 100% on all papers and did all of the extra credit. The school graded on a curve during Summer School. My scores in both classes were so high, no one else even passed those classes. This is scary on so many levels. Thankfully for the other students, the school board was able to have a special session and decided to throw out my scores for determining the curve in those two classes. Suddenly all but 1 or 2 students in each classes "passed". Again, scary. For the record, if they had not used a curve in the first place, only 1 student who was in both classes, besides myself, would have passed either of the classes, and he would have done so by a point or two (my extra credit did him in on the curve). Like I sad, scary.

Garrett - I'm prepared to give you the benefit of the doubt, sorry for taking the piss ( a bit) - but you should consider taking a bit more time over your posts. It helps me.

Thank you. But I am unfamiliar with the term "taking the piss". What does it mean?

So Anung, how much of a following do these Anti-Killerspiele groups actually have in the general public? Does anyone outside the media and this actual group support this kind of crap? Does anyone who is actually a gamer support it? I guess I should probably peruse your blog again...

I was glad to hear that the government didn't ban these kinds of games though. Honestly, even using a term like "Killerspiele" just seems like the next level in this ridiculous culture of fear that seems to be engulfing the western world. Don't worry, the government is here to protect you! They make uninformed decisions so you don't have to!

'Taking the piss' means the same thing as 'mocking' or 'making fun' of someone.

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

To be honest, I don't know much about that. As far as I gathered from Forums it dpeneds on where you live. One guy I have frequent contact which keeps saying that he'll probably loose his job if they realize that he spends so much time with these games.
I just get a lot of my intel out of the media and I really can't tell how many people are actually influenced by the media coverage. I guess it's the classic case of "I hope other people are as smart as me to see that this is crap".

The "k-word" itself is basically the main pillar of this whole discussion. It's a terrible word and is only used because of the neagtive image it gives gaming.
