notice how that wasn't in the actual thread title? This is mostly at Airmaniac, but a few others as well. This thread isn't about the 'best transport', it's about your favorite, maybe you like land raiders, or maybe you like wave serpents...or, like one voter, you like the Ork Looted wagon (I think it makes a better tank personally...). This isn't about the best, it's about what people like. Although, I made all the land raider variants one choice....I think I should have done the same to Rhino/Razorback in hindsight.

If you would've bothered to read the entire thread, you would have also read my first reply, in which I say I voted for Wave Serpent as my favorite transport because I think it looks good. So yes, I understand the idea of the poll. Regardless, a lot of people explain their choice for the Wave Serpent by argumenting why it is the best tranport, which I found odd and replied to. Besides that, you actually posted this thread in the 40k Tactics section of the forum. For that reason, I don't find it strange at all that people vote for the Transport they think is the 'best'. This section is after all about the game 40k, and not about the models in 40k.

Need more Land Raider votes!
It's a nigh indestructible, fires while moving, filled with terminators, heaps of variants, enormous box! Where has all the love gone?

You just couldn't handle the truth. God knows why anyone would want that cookie anyway. I can only imagine what foul demons possess such a thing as to make it stand on its side like that. I prefer my cookies horizontal and without eternal damnation. - Ridcully
Either that or take a 4+ cover save from all of GW's red tape blocking LoS to the way to play it. - Kitzz |

When I played vanilla SM I liked Rhinos for the repair function and two shooting ports. Razorbacks are nice for +5 point twin linked las @ 40 each, but I never got much out of them point wise and prefered a dev squad for better shots and survivability.
Can't beat a Land raider though. It's a big expensive target, but if you can play it right (and get lucky) it can ake or break a game.
I'm not sure if it counts as a transport, but I'd have to say the Monolith overall is the best I've seen for moving lots of troops. 14 AC all around, large blast, reduces ap to 1D6, teleports, it's pretty sweet!

That is true, sorry about that. (Edit: and sorry if I sounded offensive...) It might have worked out better in 40K General, but it seems to have generated a bunch of responses anyways. Also, the mono does not carry troops around....though if the drop pod is a transport, I concede that maybe the Monolith can be one as well.
