As for what I think of Gav Thorpe, he's written some ok stuff and although the Chaos Codex was a little, erm, rubbish I liked Inquisitor and the fluff behind it....

I can see that he cares about his work. His background writing is pretty good but his rules leave something to be desired. Overall, positive... for now

Considering how much fun and fluff were in CSM before he raped it, I am really not very fond of him. I played inquisitor, but blood boil.

The level of neutering in CSM really was huge mind you, I imagine some of the younger players will have trouble appreciating why it upsets so many. Losing reasons to field CSM to one god and the fluff size units, customisation and characterisation (I wish I could get that slaaneshi prince with need of pleasure out of my mind), not having to field only one build at all, being able to actually summon daemons worth using.

I liked that there was a variety; bike daemon bombs, iron legion, alpha legion push, thousand sons and plague marine focused armies were vastly different in application.

Negative. Kicked CSM to the kerb.

I'm a bit of fan of thorpe. I like some of his background material and think some of his rules are alright. I've also had the pleasure of meeting him once at an event prior to its public opening and I must see he's a perfectly talkative and reasonable man.

I love Gav for his Eldar novels.

I like Gav Thorpe. Yes he nerfed Chaos Marines hard, but its not like he's a certain other designer. I did play Chaos back in the day, so I do know what I'm talking about, its not like Slanneesh was that good, most of the time I usually saw armies that were either Nurgle, Khorne or one of the Legions.

I miss the legions, I had two Nightlords and Alpha Legion, but the overall nerf to the 'dex feels a lot more like GW wanting to make them worse than vanilla marines, which is something that GW does blatantly, so would the "FLUFF RAPIST" posters go bash on GW for a bit?

Very negative. I'm a CSM player.
All of the fluff could be removed from that book and be replaced with the following...
-never use possessed.
-never use csm land raiders.
-never use vanilla csm.
-deploy your dreadnought in another zip code.
-learn to love the 4+ invul save.

Well his book Grudgebearer is amazing! So I defintiely think positively of him!
