That's awesome.

My gf got me into 40K, but she plays BA's and I play Orks and Chaos. Can't team together. :(

Casting darkness, deep inside your mind
Screaming razors, resonating down your spine
Wearing you down, I'll haunt you where you sleep
Vulnerable, I make the guilt sting

Fear of the dark Bathe the world in spite, it keeps you in place
Growing nervous Abused humiliated, naked and ashamed
I will find you My mouth is full of ruin, I breathe it into you
Princess chaos I'll set the world on fire, I'm gunna start with you

Clearly a worshiper of Slaanesh . . .
Morgrim wrote:My family thinks that me spending Friday night in my FLGS sculpting, painting or playing is something artistic and an interesting hobby, and much better than going out to nightclubs and getting smashed. And, ironically, it's cheaper too.
Well, my point wasn't that spending piles of cash on booze at bars while cheating on your significant other (I'm sure that can be fun, too) isn't better than playing 40k but rather that the notion that playing 40k instead of going clubbing makes a person more "datable" is pretty weak. If you're a guy trying to find a girl at the FLGS . . . well, good luck. You, Morgrim, have the deck stacked in your favor statistically speaking. But watch out: the odds may be good but the goods tend to be odd. o_0

I wasn't meaning I use it as a place to date (I've gone out with two members of my gaming group, they ended horribly, only recently started playing against one again...) but more that compared to other things it isn't that bad a habit/hobby.

And I think I've actually lost the original point of that comment somewhere along the lines. *goes to look*

EDIT: And it's taken you this long to realise I have leanings towards Slaanesh? Although I must try to resist, not for reasons of the dying mon'keigh but because it's not a healthy trait for DE. Hmm, maybe I could follow Ahra's example and change sides...

Regarding this topic, I always hear people say--in all seriousness--some variation of "my girl prefers I do this rather than chill at clubs where I might be getting drunk and cheating on her." Seems pretty lame to me.

Eek. There are so many things wrong with this that I won't even point them out.

Back on topic... The things in this thread don't have the same... zing... as the ones for various sports.

I can think of a lot more "reasons not to date a 40K player"
- We know a lot about BS
- Only some of us (troops) can score.
- Power Fists.
- Those of us with 'heavy weapons' can't move and use them at the same time.
- Assaults are common
- We tend to collect green fungus
- Our fingertips are rough because of the superglue stuck to them.

me, being a tau player, just have to say 1 thing: the whole heavy weapon thing is BS. All we need is some A.S.S........i mean Advanced stabilisation systems....(bad pun...i apologise)

I am NOT a crook. I have never stolen a thing in my life. BUT I have borrowed things with no intent whatsoever on returning them....

What if some of us had REAL reasons?

-Most of us tend to be intellectual types. So long as the "war" in wargaming brings out one's masculine side, at least some percentage of us HAVE to be desirable... at least those of us who bathe.
