Which is kinda annoying, because I was going to paint it up for a friend just getting started and who wants to do Tyranids.

What? Not at all! As a matter of fact, they now have a campaign where the nids all raced back to their homeworld to defend the hive mind from a sudden invasion of Squats. I can't wait to see how it ends!

From 40konline, thanks to Mr. Parsons.

I just spoke to GW regarding the new Chimera as I desperately needed 5 of the current one but they are now no more (which is bloody frustrating - the new kit isn't out for over a month but all stores including independents were stopped from ordering it in January and now everywhere has sold out in London).

The guy told me the following (bear in mind this was just a GW employee over the phone at customer services but he was a Guard player and was helpful):

The new Chimera has the same tracks and side skirts as the new Hellhound, meaning no floatation tanks which I think is a shame as it greatly decreases the vehicle's front profile, and fits its amphibious nature.

There is no vehicle accessory sprue in the box (as already confirmed) so we have to shell out another £8 for pintle stubers, track guards etc.

The turret is new and looks different but has both multi laser and heavy bolter options, which are plug in like the Hellhound, as are the hull options which will be Heavy Bolter and Heavy Flamer.

The turret ring however is different, which I suspect may mean that Forgeworld Turrets will need to modified to fit as with the new Russ.

The crappy las guns down the side have apparently stayed though which to me seems a shame as they could have just got rid of these.

Apart from those minor changes though the kit apparently looks pretty much exactly the same as the original one.

I did hear it was going to have a detailed interior like the rhino (I guess like the forgeworld kit).that’s why the redone chassis sprue has the grilled flooring .Any one else heard this?
