A plasma rifle, one of the Tau ones that's only S6 but doesn't overheat. It'll still be Instant Death to anyone it connects with, and the firepower of an automatic rifle. It can be used as an anti-material weapon in a pinch, and it shouldn't be that hard to cook up some dihydrogen oxides for ammo/fuel.
Oh, and a matching bipod, like the Elysian Drop-Troops have.
