Most remakes are just steaming heaps of gak. A lot of recent movies are just as gakky. When did movies collectively "jump the shark", I have no idea. To keep the hockey going here, "Slapshot" is a perfect example. The original from the 70s is a fantastic movie, but the remake was horrible. Worse than "Master of Disguise". Maybe not that bad.

Recently, here in J-Pan you can buy old movies from the 30s 40s and 50s for like 300 yen. They are way more interesting and entertaining. You're not spoon fed the plot like a lobotomized clone peppered with BS explosions.

I think Hollywood should be fired.

They re-made Slapshot? When?

So glad I missed that abomination.

Okay, maybe it was Slapshot 2...I'm not sure because I only watched the first 15 or so minutes. But even making a sequel of a hit from like 30 years earlier is bad news. Look at how bad Star Wars got fethed in A.

starwars episode 1 to 3....... no matter how badly any other movie can or ever could be, these will always remain in the top 3 baddest movies of all time.. trouble is Lucas knew he'd created a pile of crap but it didnt stop him from marketing the hell out of it to gain the money before the public wised up.
Lucas gets a from me.

Ahh come one...they weren't that bad. If only the wooden acting and dialogue could have been better.

I thought they were on par with the first 3 TBH.

Revenge of the Sith is at least as good as Return of the Jedi. The other 2 prequels are notably deficient compared to the originals.

Revenge of the Sith only seems as good because what preceded it were so bad that anything a little better seems like gold.

With the exception of Phantom menace (which was awful beyond mesure),I'm inclined to agree with you GG.
ALL of the Star Wars films films suffer from wooden acting, stilted and stagey dialogue and a grandious use of "one liners".

Back OT,Not all that excited about a remake of Red Dawn, the original, being released during the "Oh my gosh, the Commies are going to get us" 80s,was a bit of "flag waving" fun,but I honestly don't see a remake capturing that same sort of spirit.

Episodes 1-3 are like a turd in a punch bowl. Everything was there for a great party, but Lucas couldn't resist and gave us jah-jah.

I agree with Fitzz, a remake of Red Dawn won't catch the same spirit at all. They take the same idea but set it in Europe and make the badguys Islamofascists.

Sorry, but Star Wars 1-3 aren't even remotely in the running for worst movies of all time. Ep. 1 might have been one of the most disappointing in terms of the build up and subsequent let down but worst of all time? Not even close.

Yeah, that makes it all better. With the fearsome Cuban military behind it the absurd now makes perfect sense.

You're right they aren't the worst movies of all time. "Master of Disguise" and "Baby Geniuses 2 Starring Scott Biao" are the worst movies of all time.

Actually, a friend and I tried to watch a movie called "Quantum Apocalypse" over the weekend. It was pretty terrible too.

I dare you to watch any movie by Uwe Boll and not feel the urge to kill yourself afterwards.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Firearm safety that everyone missed.

Loaded RPG with venturi on the ground = everyone within 25m+ pelted with fist sized rocks when the back blast hits the dirt.

Also, France invading Quebec would be hilarious. France shows up, find Quebec full of smoke, poutine and Hockey. France leaves.
